"The estimate was done very professionally. Cody made me feel confident that the work was going to be done professionally and at a fair price. The day of installation the crew went above and beyond in the performance of the their job. They had great personalities and were very quick with what I though would be a complicated job. I'll definitely be using them in the project I have planned in the future."

"We found MN Building Contractors at the Rochester home show. The bid was comparable to the 8 contractors who bid. Bill offered suggestions and options we felt would improve the overall appearance, which is why we choose him. We had new windows, storm doors, siding, facia, soffit and gutter installed. His crews were professional, on time and did excellent work and cleaned up very well. Everything was completed in a timely manor. There were a few minor issues Bill addressed quickly and personally. Bill communicated well from bidding to completion, so we always knew what and who to expect and when. Working with Bill was like working with a friend. I would strongly suggest him as your next contractor."

"Luke called me back and came by my house to look into the project and give me an estimate the day that I called him. He was friendly, professional, and prompt. He worked around my schedule, which I greatly appreciated. My project involved adjusting doors so they would fit properly within their frames."

"Four words! Professional Honest Experienced Dependable Our home and garage have new, top rated roofs that (in the day and age of supply chain problems) David found and installed for us. His crew was outstanding and the clean up was meticulous. We are also using him for the interior work needed on our home. 100% impressed and can't say how refreshing it was to find a general contractor who does business in a totally reliable way. Bonded, insured and licensed in MN."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.

Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.
