Bloomfield manager came out finally and said,”Yep your lawn is needed up!” And the did it! Used to have best lawn in the neighborhood with sod and no weeds! Not anymore and the same services were performed by TrueGreen as previous years! We are going to post signs in our yard saying “Work performed by TrueGreen”!!! Like a rent-controlled apartment in New York City, rodents know a good thing when they see it. If they've found a cozy nest inside your home, they will set up camp and stay there, leaving only to forage for food and water. As long as they have a warm place to sleep, raise their young, and continue access to water and food, they're going to stick around.

Both insects can damage wood, but there are key differences between termites and carpenter ants that tell them apart. Carpenter ants tunnel through moist wood, leaving behind smooth tunnels and sawdust-like piles, as they don't eat the wood but rather carve it for nesting. In contrast, termites actually consume wood, creating irregular galleries filled with mud and dirt, and leaving behind mud tubes as their signature. In terms of appearance, carpenter ants have segmented bodies with heart-shaped heads and larger front wings, while termites have more oval bodies with straight antennae and equal-sized wings.

Droppings from cockroaches, squirrels, mice, bats, and birds can resemble rat poop, making it easy to confuse one for another. Mouse droppings are smaller and more pointed, cockroach droppings resemble tiny black specks or ground pepper, and bat guano can look similar but usually crumbles into powder. Bird droppings sometimes have a similar shape, but often include white uric acid deposits. If in doubt, it’s best to consult a pest control professional for proper identification and removal.

First, you’ll start noticing fewer flying termites in the air. Second, you’ll see fewer ground-based termites near the entrances to their colony, and eventually none at all. Third, if you have access to part of the nest like mud tubes, you can scour away a section and watch it. If the tubes don’t get repaired, the nest is probably doomed. Again, it can take several weeks for termites to fully go away, depending on the type of treatment.

Always begin by removing the gnat's source of food. Toss rotting fruit, place new fruit in the fridge, and switch the soil of your houseplants. 

The best way to get rid of gnats in the kitchen is by baiting and trapping them with something sweet. Combine water with a few drops of dish soap, apple cider vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and poke small holes to trap the gnat in the liquid.
