"The service was great. They cut trees, Snow plowing, Clean my garden, Did a lawn service, Clean the area. and landscaping. Respectful and they do their job on time . Price is very reasonable. They tell you they do something and they keep their work. I don't have a problem. Very thorough and did a very good job. When I called them they will came the same day and for snow plowing they came 1-2 hours. Depends on the situation. Professional people."

"I was apprehensive when we contracted for seasonal snow removal; however, there was no reason for me to worry! We got our first snow fall last night and Knockout Landscaping was here bright and early to do what they were hired to do. They removed the snow from all the requested areas that were previously agreed-to. They were quick, efficient, professional ... and surprisingly very quiet. We are really delighted that we hired Jerry Donovanâ s team! Although this was just our first snowfall, weâ re pretty we made the right choice in hiring Knockout Landscaping with Jerry Donovan and his team!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

The fastest and most effective way to remove snow, especially from a driveway, is by using a high-powered, two- or three-stage snow blower, which can clear an area in minutes. Other helpful options include a snow thrower, a wheelbarrow plow, and a leaf blower. If you need immediate assistance, consider hiring a professional snow removal service to handle the job for you.

Clearing snow from your roof can be a tedious and time-consuming job. Even so, it is extremely important to maintain your roof during the winter months. You can help prevent ice dams and avoid roof collapse.

As a side note, rather than shoveling your roof, you should always use a roof rake to modify the job. Otherwise, call in a professional.

Ice dam removal is costly, but it’s absolutely worth it. If you leave an ice dam as is and don’t take care of it, you’re looking at potentially dangerous situations and high-cost repairs—like roof collapse, leaks, mold problems, gutter damage, and more. Removing ice dams is essential to keeping your home and your family safe in the snowy season.

The process to winterize your landscaping depends on the plants you have, but generally speaking, you should rake your lawn to avoid leaves from smothering your grass and leading to mold and fungi growth, wrap young trees to protect from fluctuating temperatures, and fertilize your lawn to provide some nutrients for the grass through the colder temperatures. You can also consider marking off small trees and shrubs to avoid accidentally damaging them with snow removal tools.
