Customers say: True professional

"They did a great job leveling out and cleaning up my paver patio. Small family business, one son met me for the estimate and his brother did the job. Both professional and friendly. Thank you!"

"I contacted The Crack Team for foundation wall crack waterproofing after finding water near our utility lines and basement corner. They arrived on time, answered all my questions, and did clean work. What impressed me most was how respectful and honest the crew was throughout the whole process. The leaking stopped completely and the area looks great now."

Emergency services offered

"Absolutely excellent service! After noticing that water was coming into my chimney when it rained, I started seeking inspections and estimates to figure out the scope of the problem. Pisani Contracting was the only one that offered a range of work options, rather than only the most drastic and expensive one, and while I did opt in the end to have the chimney rebuilt rather than patched, the offer was much appreciated. Despite the crazy conditions of late 2021, between weather delays due to rain, material shortages, and a packed schedule of work, Greg and his crew managed to fit the repair in and completed it in just two days. The whole team was very professional, and on top of the chimney work, they even touched up a few spots of masonry around the exterior of the house! The final product looks amazing, and it completely fixed the issues I was having. I would recommend Pisani Contracting to anyone looking to get an estimate on work done, and should I need any further repairs at my house, I will give them a call first thing. Just make sure you call from a Michigan number: having moved from out of state, the cell phone I use for most calls does not have a Michigan area code, and every time I called trying to schedule an estimate, the call went to voice mail; it was only when I called from my work number, which does have a Michigan area code, that I was able to get through to set things up. I'm glad I did, though, since I'm extremely pleased with the work done!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

In Warren, most small masonry repairs, like tuckpointing or minor brick repair, typically take 1-3 days. Chimney maintenance or rebuilding usually requires 3-5 days, while larger projects such as foundation repair or new brick facades may take up to two weeks. Weather, especially spring rains or early frost, can cause delays, so plan for some flexibility in your project timeline.

Helpful?

In Warren, watch for recurring cracks, mismatched or crumbling mortar, and persistent water stains—these often signal poor brick repair or foundation issues. Efflorescence (white powdery deposits) returning quickly, loose bricks, or mortar failing within five years are also red flags. If you notice uneven settling or moisture inside, consult a local pro for a thorough assessment and long-lasting repairs.

Helpful?

For Warren homes, inspect brickwork and mortar joints each spring for signs of winter damage or water intrusion. Clean off salt residue from walkways and reseal concrete every few years to prevent moisture penetration. Schedule a professional chimney inspection every few years, especially before winter. Address small cracks or loose mortar promptly to prevent foundation issues from developing due to MI’s freeze-thaw cycles.

Helpful?

In Warren, immediate masonry work is needed if you see cracks wider than ¼ inch, bricks shifting, bulging walls, or water leaks—these issues can quickly worsen with MI’s freeze-thaw cycles. Minor hairline cracks or chipped mortar can often wait, but it’s best to schedule brick repair between late spring and early fall to ensure proper curing and avoid weather-related setbacks.

Helpful?

In Warren, chimneys and foundation walls are most vulnerable due to moisture and shifting clay soil. Exterior brick walls facing prevailing winds or heavy sun exposure often show wear first. Steps, walkways, and porches exposed to de-icing salts and foot traffic also need regular attention. Homes built in the 1950s-1970s often require repointing as original mortar begins to deteriorate after several decades.
