"In 2014, Bales installed the wrong size furnace in our new construction house. Fast forward to 2022, and many repairs later, we were still looking for an answer as to how so many things can go wrong with basically a new Temp Star furnace. In a last effort, we went to other contractors and found that Bales had installed the wrong size furnace for the duct work and the furnace was basically starving itself. I am not sure which makes me angrier, the fact that the entire install was incorrect, the fact that they took my money to repair the furnace and never noticed this over many years, or the fact that they never got back with my wife in a timely manner after they found out they made a huge mistake. I was told that the owner was going to talk to his brother about this and they would get back. It has been 6 weeks, and no phone calls have been returned. It is my hope that you will avoid this very expensive situation that we had to be in due to this situation not being rectified by this contractor."

ADAMS & Son, Inc. is (or will soon be) your favorite HVAC Mechanical Contractor in Berrien County. Since 1999 we've been grateful for every customer, contractor & employee! We're on a mission to change the perception of our field. We operate with integrity, honesty, skill & passion for what we do! If it involves HVAC we know it and we do it very well. You're going to like us... A LOT!

"Our water heater died. We called Adams & Son and the office manager said she would contact mechanic and get back to me. Within 10 minutes they called and agreed to have a mechanic and a new tankless water heater at my home the next morning. They arrived at 8:30am and by 10:30am we had hot water. They were professional, efficient and left my home spotless. It was hard to believe we had gone through such a mess less than 24 hours before. I would recommend Adams and Son to anyone who needs their services."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

Any gas pipe can leak, especially if it’s old or isn’t properly maintained. However, even with a shovel, plastic pipes are more easily damaged by impact. That’s why it’s so important to have gas lines marked by the utility company before you begin digging for any reason. Some metal pipes, like black pipes, galvanized steel, and copper, aren’t as easily damaged by impact but can degrade over the years, leading to leaks.

Sometimes. While many traditional homes use copper, galvanized steel, PVC, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and PEX, mobile homes will typically use PVC, CPVC, or PEX. These materials are more flexible, easier to work with, and handle colder temperatures.

Although a gas company supplies gas to homes, connecting gas appliances, like a dryer, is not their responsibility. The primary role of a gas company is to safely deliver gas to a property and maintain the gas supply lines up to a specific point, typically the gas meter or shut off valve. The task of installation is usually taken on by the homeowner or professional dryer installer.

You should have a licensed plumber to install a gas line for your new gas fireplace. As experts in all things natural gas, these professionals understand how to work with gas safely to avoid explosions, leaks, and other potentially hazardous situations. They also know how to handle the other aspects of the process, including pulling permits, digging trenches, and connecting new gas lines to old lines.

In some cases, the answer is yes. Being licensed to work on gas lines requires additional specialized training beyond being a licensed plumber. If the plumber is also licensed as a natural gas plumber, they will be able work on natural gas lines. If the plumber is only licensed to work on water and sewer lines, then you’ll have to find another professional to do gas line work.
