"Great experience with Mike, he helped us with our roof replacement and made it more affordable than we ever could’ve thought! Can’t wait to get the roof done."
"While removing the old roof, the aluminum coverings on our mansard roof dormers were damaged. The roofing crew attempted to repair the damage but the result was not satisfactory. As compensation they deducted a small amount from the total bill."
"We needed a new roof on our house. We also needed new skylights.I was referred to Rapid Home Improvement (RHI) from Mark Pytiak of Green Home Energy, who had done some work in my home. I had estimates from 4 different roofing/home improvement companies to which I had been referred. From my first contact with Mike Beaty of Rapid Home Improvement, I knew this was the company I wanted to use. Mike Beaty promptly returned my first phone call and came to my house on time to look at my roof on the date we agreed upon. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. He took as much time as I needed to help me understand his recommendations. He went up on my roof and took pictures to show me where there were holes and shingles missing. He sent me a very detailed estimate the next day. He answered all my questions while waiting for me to decide who to use for this job. He provided references upon request and answered any follow up questions I had. We negotiated a price for the job that was satisfactory to us both. His workers showed up on time on the agreed upon start date. The new roof and skylights were installed over 2 days without incident. The workers cleaned up my property well and nothing was damaged. One of the solar shades on one of the skylights was not aligned properly. The worker who was in charge of this part of the job very pleasantly solved the problem once I brought it to his attention. Mike Beaty followed up in person to inspect the job and make sure we were satisfied. We were very satisfied and have had no problems with the new roof or skylights. "
"Installation crew were pros. 19sq roof, complete underlay tear off to reshingle; 6 guys showed up at dawn and finished by dinner; thorough clean up and looks great. No choice but to pay full price in current market. Quality work, definitely recommend."

"I choose Llamas Construction to repair the roof leak in my attached garage and to tuck point my front porch and replace the front step. Julian was professional and courteous and came out to walk through the work I needed completed. He accessed the roof to see where the leak was occuring and took pictures and explained how he would remedy the issue.
We set a date for him to come out, he repaired the the first day and blocked the porch off with cones to all or mortar to set. The next day they came out and repaired the roof and extended my downspout to the gutter.
I am happy with the work and would recommend using Llamas Construction."
You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.
The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.
Copper roof strips offer better coverage and more damage protection than zinc roof strips. Although both deter moss and algae growth, copper also offers UV protection. Zinc strips require more strips than copper to cover the roof’s surface area, which means more holes in your roof. Copper strips are also more flexible and last longer than zinc strips.
If your roof has a vapor barrier, you will need approximately one square foot of roof vent for every 300 square feet of ceiling space. If there is no vapor barrier, the roof should have one square foot of roof vent for every 150 square feet of ceiling space. If you are not comfortable making this determination, a local roofing professional can help.
You can negotiate roofing payment terms with a contractor, but if you’re working with a reliable, trustworthy roofing contractor, the quote they gave you is probably fair. It’s often not worth haggling over the cost of the job unless you feel it is particularly unfair. If you do, get quotes from other roofing companies to compare prices.
If you choose to get a personal loan to finance a roof, you will want to aim for a “good” or “excellent” credit score for the best rates. That means a credit score of 690 or more. If you aren’t sure of your credit score, you can request one free credit report per year from each of the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Many banks also provide free credit reports monthly.
