"Jamey does very good work, but communication is a major issue. We began discussing our project with him in May and were told he would provide a quote. On July 17th, he said he would start work on July 21st, but we never received any paperwork to sign. He even mentioned, ?I know I?m terrible at paperwork.? While working in our home, he locked our dogs outside and allowed his dog free range of the house. His dog had an accident on our white area rug, which we only discovered through our home cameras. The kitchen was completed in mid-September, and we signed off with a contingency. Nine cabinet doors did not meet our expectations due to cracks or poor assembly, and we requested replacements. On October 23rd, we followed up to ask if the cabinets had been ordered but received no response. I reached out again recently and feel we are being avoided. The quality of the finished work was good, but the lack of communication and professionalism made the experience frustrating."

"I hired JLM Home Solutions to install all my interior doors and closets including frames/casings in my upstairs. Jason was a horrible person the entire time I hired him. He acted like a nice person just to get hired. I regret hiring him. Unfortunately I had signed a contract by the time I found out he was no good. Every time I brought up something that was not done right, he’d yell and raise his voice at me. He’s very rude and unprofessional with the worst customer service. He was rude on text, rude on phone and rude in person. Jared, I guess one of his employees was a great person, very polite and did an amazing job. He worked on the project in a professional manner. He didn’t come back though to finish the project because Jason sent another person instead, David, who did an awful job. Jason didn’t want to hear it that David’s work was not the greatest. I had to put a stop payment after I found out one of the closet doors wasn’t installed right and other things that were wrong. Jason got so upset that he had to come back to fix the problem after I told him I didn’t want David. Jason came to my house but failed to fix the problem still. Instead he made me feel threatened in my own house. He was all in my face yelling at me saying nothing was wrong with the closet. Even my little dog was scared. I had to call my daughter and son to come over because I was so terrified that he was maybe going to hurt me. I stayed on the phone all the time while he was there so someone could hear his abusive behavior. That day after Jason left, I had to get a second opinion on the closet. Another contractor couldn’t believe the way the closet was installed and for Jason to insist it was okay. He left the old frame on and didn’t want to here when I mentioned it. I’ll have this closet removed and a new one with new frame installed the right way. I had to insist Jason deduct some money for that closet from the balance owed to him. A couple of days later, I noticed my kitchen door they installed still had cracks on the inside frame close to the lock. I had mentioned that to him. I texted him to let him know with pictures showing the cracks. Now Jason won’t respond to my text, email or phone. I asked him to send one of his guys to fix the door. Not him because I don’t want him around me. I’ve tried everything to get to him. I know he’s ignoring me. I paid him so much money for this project. If I don’t hear from him I’ll have no choice but to file small claims. He cannot leave my door like that after I paid him so much money and thinks he can just get away with it. If there was an option of zero stars, that’s what I’d have given JLM."

Above Roofing started with a dedicated man who had a big idea. In 1995 Robert Freeman was a single parent trying to make ends meet while raising his young children. He had a passion to help others and used his knowledge and skills to start his own company doing home repair services. There were always homes needing roof work, and it quickly became his most popular service. It didn t take long for him to realize that many homeowners were being taken advantage of by other roofing contractors. Some were pressured by dishonest salesmen selling the homeowners things they didn t need or promising one thing but delivering another. Other homeowners hired guys who were nice but incompetent contractors, overlooking important aspects of the job just to keep the price down to win the bid. This often ended up causing costly leaks, mold and warranty issues. Another concern was with the people who were actually doing the work. While the sales person looked professional and seemed trustworthy, the guys that showed up to work on the roof looked like pirate crews with foul language and demeanors to match. These were guys he wouldn t want on his home or around his children! With each case Robert came across, he discovered a common denominator: a homeowner who was not given the information they needed to choose the right contractor. His heart went out to them. He knew he wanted to be a roofer that was different than the rest of the pack. He strived to go above the image of a normal roofing company - hence the name Above Roofing - by providing homeowners an honest, quality service at the right price, and it worked! Robert used a picture of his black lab to help represent the company because she was loyal, friendly and trustworthy- exactly what he wanted Above Roofing to be.
