"Called and was treated so kindly and patiently while I tried to explain the problem with the leaking pipe. I was able to take pics with my phone for Jud to see if he had the parts with him. Jud came out within an hour of my call. He even gave me $30.00 off. Would highly recommend. Very respectful of my home, took his shoes off without me asking. Thank you."

"Services: Unclog drain, Repair toilet, Repair pipe. // Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness // Haines was recommended to me saying they were good at their job. I called them Monday, Feb 15th about a clogged drain, they came out Tues Feb 16th at the time I was told they would be there, which was great! They were there from 3:30 pm to 6:50 pm. Some repairs had to be made to the laundry tub drain and my toilet had to be lifted so they could access that portion of the drain. After the toilet was replaced, the shut-off valve leaked, so I asked them to replace that also. The work that was done created quite a mess... BUT, when they were finished you would never know that. Everything was cleaned up so well and disinfected, it looked nice and smelled nice. The workmen were very professional and knowledgeable about their job. I will add this company to my contacts as a reliable source for repairs."

"Dan and his apprentice Andrew were extremely helpful and they went above and beyond my expectations. Dan cleaned the floor where the toilet leaked (which I did not expect him to clean) before installing the new toilet. They were quick and efficient and I was surprised to have the installation done on the same day as the inspection / consultation. I highly recommend these guys for your plumbing needs."

"Thank you for everyone's positive reviews - that influenced me to call Premier Plumbing and I was not disappointed, Professional, effiecient, knowledgeable of older home's piping issues, cost effective (and I had a couple of odd-ball issues I needed to address). "Cam came to help me and my husband with a drain problem. He was kind, interested in understanding the concern, he explained the processes he was going through, and finally found the problem. It was resolved and at a reasonable price. We will definitely use East End Plumbing if we have this type of problem again. Thank you for helping!!"

"We had intermittent drain issues with our kitchen drain for years. I was able to clear it with a snake that attaches to a drill....until I couldn't. Mr. Downs to the rescue! He was prompt polite and got all the grease and gunk out of that drain and line. The people that built the house must have poured a lot of grease down the drain. A few years have gone by and it's still working great. Then an unnamed member of the family flushed something down the toilet. I gave Mr. Downs a call and he walked me through some basics and with his advice I was able to get it out myself. I tried to send him $20 via VenMo as a thank you for helping me over the phone since it didn't require a service call but he wouldn't accept it. He is a solid guy. (I'm still going to find a way to at least get him lunch haha). I would gladly recommend this business for anyone fighting with clogged drains and other plumbing issues."

Chris was great.  He was punctual, professional, and polite.  From my description of what had happened with the toilet overflow, he was able to use the right tools for the job the first time.  Chris answered all my questions and gave me helpful tips for common plumbing issues, such as how to know if your toilet bowl is leaking.  He checked all the water pipes, drains, and connections.  He also noticed that my washer hoses were worn and suggested a type that would give me better wear.  Chris wore shoe guards and left the place clean.  This was a $99 Coupon Deal and I felt that I got my money worth!

Toilets questions, answered by experts

If a toilet is not properly vented, you could experience issues like poor drainage, slow flushing, frequent clogs, malfunctioning traps, gurgling noises, and the release of sewer gasses. If left untreated, all of these issues could lead to longer term structural damage or (in the case of sewer gasses) harmful health side effects.

Yes, you can clean a toilet tank with white vinegar. Before you do, shut off the water supply to the toilet. Then, flush it to empty the tank. Next, combine one part vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture inside the tank. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse away the vinegar by pouring clean water into the tank. Make sure the tank is empty, then dip a scrub brush in vinegar and clean the tank’s inside walls. Turn the water back on and flush again to rinse away the vinegar.

While gasket-sealed PVC flanges are the type most commonly found in homes, flanges come in a range of different materials, including copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum, that pros sometimes secure with glue. If this is the case in your bathroom, the replacement is a job better left to the pros.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.
