Schedule your water change when the weather is mild, as intense heat or cold can damage the pool liner when the pool is empty.

Most homeowners prefer to start the pool-building process in the early spring. Pulling permits and completing the design can take months, so it's best to start early for a summer of swimming. That being said, you can also save a bit of money by installing your pool in the fall or—when possible—the winter. Waiting until the off-season also means that more contractors and materials will be available.
