"The men who did the remodel were great. Even when they had to go back to the base to get shower doors because they were not in the materials. One stayed and did more while the other got the doors. The salesman was nice but wasnâ  t prepared with the materials he needed. I do like my shower though no more fear of falling, climbing over the tub."

"Mark and his team were great. After I experienced some flooding in my basement due to a burst pipe, Mark was able to fit my project into their already busy summer schedule. Communication was consistent throughout the project, and good suggestions were made in regard to flooring options. The following work was completed: replaced damaged insulation, demo and removal of old carpet and wainscoting, patched/replaced sections of drywall, walls painted, Coretec flooring installed, touch-ups on trim. Everyone who came in to work on the basement was punctual, polite, and professional. I'm very pleased with the quality of the finished space."

"We replaced our bathtub with a walk in shower, and are extremely happy with the work that was provided. In only took one person 6 hours to complete the job, and he was very professional and the quality of work was great. Would hire them again."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The overflow drain and wastewater drain connect to the same main pipe to take water away from your bathtub. Your overflow drain is meant to prevent damage to your bathroom—especially the floor around your bathtub, where excess water can quickly create a mold or mildew problem.

Adding a soaking tub can increase your return on investment (ROI) for a bathroom remodel, with many people recouping a 60% ROI when adding a soaking tub. To get the best value from installing a soaking tub, make sure that your floor plan allows the tub to act as a focal point in your bathroom, adding aesthetic value as well as being practical.

Labor is the most expensive part of a bathroom remodel. If you’re doing a major remodel, structural changes (such as moving walls) and plumbing reconfiguration can be costly. For a standard remodel, the big-ticket items include tiles and new tub or shower fixtures.

Alcove tubs come in fiberglass, acrylic, or enameled steel. Fiberglass is the most affordable but least durable, while acrylic is the highest-end and most durable (as long as you don’t go with a poor grade of acrylic, which will be prone to scratches). Enameled steel, where a steel tub is coated in a layer of porcelain, is a wallet-friendly middle ground. This material is highly durable but prone to chips.

You can resurface or reglaze your bathtub, and it’s faster and less expensive than replacing a bathtub. Plus, replacing a bathtub is an extensive and intrusive process that requires wall repairs. Refinishing is an excellent option if the old one is in good working condition.

There are also options to install a bathtub liner over your existing tub. However, if you’re seeking a new bathtub with new features, you’ll likely want to replace your tub.
