"I live in Saint Joseph MI and CERI did an excellent job finding and removing the mold that was inside our home and finding and removing smaller areas of asbestos. I called because I’ve had chronic allergy problems, with the mold removed from the home and the air quality tested on each floor to find the problems before starting, my allergies are much better. The customer service was an A+ l highly recommend them for anything regarding this type of work. They are not located in this area but you would never know it, they are familiar with this area from other jobs done here."

"I’m not sure where to even start with describing the professionalism and care this company provides for their clients. From the very beginning my husband and I felt that this company does not just clean mold out of houses but they genuinly care about the health of the home owners. We had mold from a construction job that took place down our road which resulted in flooding in our basement for months. We had quite the fight on our hands with the county and insurances for the contractors for the mold clean up, and even though it took Almost 2 months for everything to be finalized , Dustin stayed in contact the whole time with us to just simply make sure everything was going ok and we were getting some answers we deserved. We were very impressed with their work and how easy going and reliable they were. I would Recommend this company for ANY mold removal or any environmental clean up. 100% satisfied with this company."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

No, not all black mold is toxic. Although people often refer to stachybotrys chartarum as toxic black mold, there is little evidence that any one type of black mold has more toxicity than another. People who have an allergy to black mold would be more likely to have a dangerous reaction after inhaling it. Long-term exposure to black mold spores can lead to severe infection and disease. Some people only have minor health problems after black mold exposure. Ultimately, toxicity is rare with any kind of mold, but it is possible, so always take the appropriate precautions.

Figuring out why you have a musty smell in your house is the first step to getting rid of it. Mold or mildew is most likely causing the unpleasant odor. People use these terms interchangeably, but they’re actually different.

Mold is a fungus that loves to grow in moist, humid places. It’s typically black or green and has a raised, uneven texture. Stay vigilant for signs mold may be growing in your home.

You’ll find mildew growing on your shower walls and in your bathroom’s nooks and crannies. It’s a specific type of mold that grows flat. Mildew is usually white, gray, or yellow.

Yes, mold can grow in a wet dryer vent. Mold is a type of fungi, and fungi thrive in warm, moist conditions. Dryer vents need to be aired out so heat can escape and moisture can dry. If your dryer vents aren’t properly vented, the trapped heat and moisture will cause mold to grow, and the mold can spread to the dryer and even your clothes. Not only can this leave a musty smell on your freshly laundered clothes, but—more importantly—it also poses a health risk.

Inhaling black mold spores, even from behind walls, can cause people to have a wide variety of potential health issues. Some people may only notice a few breathing problems, while others can become quite sick with symptoms related to severe allergies. Constant exposure to mold spores can lead to lung infections and other long-term health problems. If you believe you have black mold inside your walls, you will want to reach out to a pro for an inspection and for advice on how to take care of the problem before it causes severe illness.

Signs of mold sickness often manifest as respiratory issues, including coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and sneezing. You might also experience symptoms that resemble allergies, such as itchy eyes and sinus infections. Other telltale signs include skin irritations, persistent and unexplainable headaches, and mental confusion, often described as 'brain fog.' It's important to remember that mold can cause health problems even if it's not visible, as it can grow inside walls. If you are experiencing these unexplained symptoms, you may want to consider a professional mold inspection.
