"He came out the same day and at the time he stated. The job was completed as I requested, as well as discovering and repairing a second problem on my roof that I did not notice when I contacted him!"

Small jobs welcome

"They did a really good job and they stand behind their work. The prices are competitive and they take pride in their work. I had a really old front door that was not insulated and they put in a new one with plenty of insulation. They also put in a new storm door and a garage side door that meant making a new doorway that's sealed properly. They answered all my questions and were respectful of the property"

"Ron arrived on time. Installed gutter guards, installed a door in rear of garage, and took care of some posts on front porch. Also went out of his way to help me remove a screen door, so the refrigerator that was being delivered would fit through door. He and his crew did a great job, cleaned up nicely. Will definitely use Malosh services again."

Customers say: Terrific value

"I just moved into a new condo and I needed someone to do multiple projects; hanging cabinets in the bathrooms, installing new shower heads, assembling furniture and hanging shelving units. Ken was amazing. He showed up on time and was so professional (if you have hired anyone lately you know how most individuals do not show up for the job or if they do they are late). Ken kept me informed on every step of the project and he was able to pivot and come up with a beautiful solution for my bathroom cabinet install. When he was finished he even brought a small vacuum and left my condo in better shape then he found it. I highly recommend Ken for any project large or small"

"I have several properties that I manage and Handy pro has been alongside me for all my maintenance needs! They are reliable, prices are great, and they are very professional. I have never had an issue with them, they are very honest when it comes to working and things breaking they give a fair price and do not try to rip you off like many other companies. I totally recommend this company for anyone who is looking for a reliable handy man that can literally do everything at your home!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

The damper, located just above the firebox, can open or close the chimney flue. The damper should remain closed unless there’s a fire burning in the fireplace. Closing the damper prevents energy loss through the chimney and cold air from seeping into the home during the winter. Opening the damper helps maintain airflow when there is a fire and prevents smoke and gases from venting into the house.

Yes, dead palm tree fronds are a fire hazard. The leaves become highly combustible because the dead fronds don’t fall off the tree themselves, especially in hot, sunny climates. In fact, many wildfires start from dead palm fronds. Palm trees can also easily catch fire from lighting, electrical power lines, and fireworks. So, cutting off dead palm fronds before they become a fire hazard is important.

Yes, an electrical fire can start even if nothing is plugged into an outlet. While a correctly functioning outlet poses no risk, a fire can be caused by faulty wiring, damaged outlet components, an overloaded circuit, or other electrical problems hidden behind the walls. If you suspect a fault, immediately turn off the circuit breaker and contact a professional electrician to diagnose and repair the issue.

There aren’t many problems with fire doors except that they slow down or cut off ventilation at the higher rating levels. For this reason, work with a professional to ensure you have adequate ventilation throughout your house or workspace. The sealing around a fire door is meant to allow for a specific amount of ventilation and will need regular inspections to ensure adequate airflow.

It’s technically possible in some areas to install your own fire suppression system, but it’s usually not a good idea. Your system must conform to the fire code in your area and will need to pass a rigorous inspection before being activated and deemed safe. Installing a fire suppression system is a complicated job, and making mistakes as a DIYer is likely. Those mistakes can cause you to fail your inspection, which means you’ll have to spend more time fixing the issues or money to have a certified plumber do the work for you. It’s best to hire a professional.
