"Nick at Hometime Construction promptly came out to assess our gutter project and then gave us a fair estimate. He was kind, knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Within an acceptable amount of time Nick and Jeremiah came out and replaced a large section of damaged gutter and beautifully cleaned and “straightened up”gutter that was disheveled and debris filled and then also dug 2 trenches with pop ups for drainage. They did a complete job; paying attention to detail and then also cleaning up with disposal of debris. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results we got using Hometime Construction. Damp plaster does dry out, although the drying time depends on several factors, including the type of plaster, the surrounding temperature, moisture content, and the extent of the dampness. Sometimes, it can take weeks or months for wall plaster to dry naturally.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

Heat can help plaster dry faster, but it's very easy to get too much of a good thing. When exposed to high heat during the curing process, plaster can dry out too quickly, leading to cracks and affecting the material's integrity. The recommended drying temperature should be listed on the plaster's packaging. If possible, set the thermostat in the room to that temperature, but not any higher.

It may take a bit of patience and trial and error to match your particular drywall texture type when making repairs. For orange peel or knockdown finishes, use a spray texture product or a thinned joint compound applied with a roller or sponge. Practice on scrap drywall or cardboard first. Once dry, lightly sand and prime before painting.

Skimming is covering drywall with a layer of drywall compound after installation or to smooth old walls. Plastering is covering walls with a mixture of gypsum or lime, cement or sand, and water. Plastering is more costly and labor-intensive than skim coating. Some homeowners and professionals refer to skim coating as plastering, even though the material spread over the wall is totally different.
