"Everything went as expected with the inspection, testing and consultation. We have a home built in 1970 and were concerned about what asbestos exists and wanted to understand our options to mitigate."

"Alexandria Windows and Doors removed my front door with two side lites and reinstalled it correctly. It is only 5 years old and was shifting. Another company quoted me $800 but Alexandria did an excellent job for $300. I would definitely use them again."

"I would do business with this company in the future. They had great customer service. I only picked another company for the siding because the price quotes were similar and the other company had sided my garage a number of years ago."

"We had extensive damage from a fallen tree. Rapid repaired all of the damage and did a good job matching the materials to the undamaged part of the house. We had rafter damage that we didn't even know about and Bill found it during his assessment. They also helped us with our insurance company by taking good pictures and answering our adjusters questions.
I was just about ready to burn the house down because I was so frustrated, but Bill really helped us out and made everything much easier than if we had to deal with the insurance company alone.
The men working on the job were also very helpful and professional.
I don't wish this kind of disaster on anyone, but if it does happen I would recommend Rapid Home Improvement! We will definitely be calling them for anything else we need and recommending them to friends and family. I think they also did the house on the next street over too.

Siding questions, answered by experts

Vinyl siding will fade slowly over time but will likely be most noticeable starting 10–15 years after installation. This timeline varies based on factors such as the climate where you live. In areas with more extreme hot or cold conditions, vinyl is likely to fade more quickly.

A brick exterior for your home has many advantages over other types of siding. While brick siding and veneer are more expensive, they’re also durable, long-lasting, and weather-resistant. Brick siding is aesthetically appealing, and can help to increase the value of your home. It’s also easy to maintain brick siding.

Increasing home value and return on investment (ROI) are two different things and it’s important to differentiate between the two. While a kitchen remodel will surely raise the value of the house, it may only have an ROI of around 50%. Homeowners looking to raise the value of their home for sale will have to consider how much they will recoup by the monetary investment in projects, as the ROI percentages may be lower or higher than the added value on a dollar-for-dollar basis.

Siding is one of your home’s first lines of defense against extreme weather. If you fail to repair or replace your damaged siding, your home is exposed to wind, snow, and rain—all of which can cause structural damage. Repairing your home’s structure will be much more costly and be a much bigger headache than simply keeping your siding in tip-top shape, so don’t delay—fix your siding ASAP.

The main differences between dutch lap versus clapboard siding have to do with their design and texture. Clapboard siding features flat, beveled planks stacked at a slight angle, offering a simple, traditional look. Dutch lap siding features a subtly concave surface along with a notch that creates a shadowed look between the boards. This eye-catching design often resembles wood grain and introduces a noticeable shadow line, making it more visually interesting compared to the simpler look of clapboard siding.
