"When we bought this house we were planning to renovate the basement.  The previous owner had represented that it had never taken on water.  The first weekend we were here, however, a torrential rainstorm caused the basement to flood.  We realized we needed to waterproof it before we could do anything else, and decided that drain tiling was the safest way to go.
Greg was phenomenally responsive from the start.  He was very clear about what needed to be done and how they would do it.  He also described some optional work but was explicit that it was optional and if it didn't fit within our budget that was that, and he wasn't going to push it the slightest bit.  His quote blew away the bigger, well-known firm and was less than or on a par with some others.  He also agreed to demo the walls for a slight extra charge, which otherwise would have been a huge convenience for us.  Between then and the start of work I emailed him repeatedly with various questions and he responded almost instantly.  When his workers took down the paneling we got the unpleasant news that we had huge cracks in the walls that would need to be tuckpointed and in one area a big chunk of foundation was jutting from the wall.  That section of the foundation would need to be replaced and a support beam installed.  We were more or less at Greg's mercy at this point -- we weren't going to halt work and bring in a series of guys to quote the tuckpointing & repair -- but Greg gave us an estimate of $2,600-$3,000.  We can't know for sure, but suspect that this price was more than fair, and Greg stuck to it even though we think the work turned out to be more than they expected.
The project manager, Jim, was fantastic to work with throughout, very communicative and accomodating, and the crew of five guys or so was extremely friendly and professional.  All in all, A Perfect Crawlspace was a pleasure to work with and we could not be happier with the results.

"I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hire someone who comes and does quality work without the drama. Jake and his team came in and replaced about 90+ bad bricks in our chimney. Besides being tough work, Jake did what he said they would do and were professional throughout the whole process. Jake matched the brick and mortar perfectly and you would not know work was done. That was the goal, it looks great and you don't even know bricks were replaced. This was a messy job and you can't tell they were even there as they power sprayed everything down and picked up all the brick and mortar. I'm a long time Angie's List member and this was one of my best experiences. If you need chimney work, they are the one to hire!"

"Since my previous review of DNA I've kept employing Derek Esterline and his associates over and over again, as there's no end of things that need to be repaired/updated/replaced, etc, after thirty-some years of "deferred maintenance." Derek has recently taken on a new partner, John Wright, and I wanted to update my review with a note about how expertly he has fit into the business. John is conscientious, industrious, and a very quick study who appreciates the high levels of skill and experience Derek has to impart. Recently they've given my barn a complete makeover, replacing shoddy roofing, broken windows, siding and hardware as necessary, and power-washing and painting the exterior and trim so that it now looks like something you might find in Martha Stewart's back pasture. They've cleaned up severe storm damage, carefully taking down a huge maple limb that had been weakened and left hanging perilously over the road by gale-force winds. In addition, John's in charge of the bookkeeping chores, cheerfully and diligently dealing with all the paperwork. That he's also an extraordinarily kind person is not necessarily relevant to a review like this, but to the extent that it speaks to a person's character I'll throw that in as well. (I've been so touched by the way he makes sure my very old, blind, dog gets his share of attention and doggie treats.)
