"The story starts with me sending an e-mail request for an estimate to be set up. I was floored when I received a response within 10 minutes from Kurt. He answered my specific question regarding their service area in that initial e-mail and informed me that someone would be calling to set up an appointment. The next afternoon I was contacted to set-up the appointment with Wayne. Wayne was very prompted, answered all my questions, drew a picture of the crawl space since I hadn't been down there (only my husband had), he waited for my husband to get home from work and discussed in detail the plan for fixing the water problem. Wayne was very professional and took his time to make sure we understood the plan and wrote up the estimate and contract right then. We took a day to think it over and get financing buttoned down. The next day I sent the contract and down-payment to Wayne. Before the contract or down payment even got to them Kurt was on the phone scheduling the work to be done. Monday morning the work crew showed up. They were all very nice gentlemen, responsive to questions, and got right to work. I felt bad because they had to crawl down a 2 x 2 foot hatch to get into the crawl space with jack hammers, etc. They installed paper over the floor and put up a plastic tunnel leading from the crawl space hatch to the outside door. Absolutely, no cement dust got into my home nor did I have any mess to clean up when they were done with the work. The team lead made sure that we knew what was going on before they left for the evening and what needed to be done the next day to finish the project. The next day, they showed up promptly and got to work. They finished around 2:00 PM and I did a walk-through of the crawl space area with the team leader. Yes, I finally went down the crawl space hatch since my husband wasn't home from work yet. He also made sure to tell me that if we have any water in the crawl space or questions to call and someone will be out to service the crawl space. The work crew worked well together and worked very hard. They carried a lot of gravel down the crawl space hatch and a lot of cement up the hatch. Overall, the experience was great and I would recommend this company to anyone that asks. "

Yes, you can absolutely install an exterior door yourself, and installing a prehung exterior door requires few tools. However, exterior doors are heavy and bulky, and any mistakes during the installation process could have severe consequences, like a lack of security in your home, an increased risk of water getting in and causing damage, and an increased risk of pest infestation. It’s definitely possible to install an exterior door yourself, but it’s often a good idea to have a professional do it for you.
If your home cannot accommodate a traditional garage door, there are plenty of other options to choose from. Consider installing a door made of glass, fiberglass, sheet metal, or faux wood. You can also choose a unique style like a folding, tilt-up, sliding, or carriage door. Consult a local garage door installer to discuss the options available for your garage shape and size.
It’s possible to install a door yourself if the wall opening already exists, but the work is rather complicated, and a professional installation is usually well worth the investment. For your door to work and close properly, you’ll need to shim and level the door frame in your wall perfectly, which can be difficult. Additionally, we recommend you always hire a professional door installer to place an exterior door, as mistakes during the installation process can lead to poor security for your home.
Solid wood is a durable and attractive option for cabinet doors that holds up well against a small amount of moisture. However, solid wood doors will expand and contract, meaning upkeep will be necessary if painted. Particleboard with veneer cabinet doors are cost-effective and can be attractive. MDF cabinet doors offer excellent and predictable workability features. However, both of those options are vulnerable to damage if water finds its way through the veneer or paint finish.
If your specific sliding glass door model is out of stock or no longer being built, it may still be best to contact the original manufacturer or installer. They can suggest a comparable replacement that is similar in size, avoiding more expensive repairs to retrofit a new door to an older opening.
