"The service technician texted me to tell me he was on his way and arrived on time. He was very kind and courteous explaining what he would be doing and how long it should take. He put booty slippers on when entering my home. When he was finished he summarized his work. I appreciated all the respectfulness and kindness plus the professionalism in their work."

"Project was replace a "dead" furnace and a "dying" central air system. They beat the original quote either by price or higher quality equipment, for an overall significant cost saving. Had the resources to replace venting on gas water heater (found cracked pipe) and refresh mastic sealer on ducts (my request). The area was left cleaner than when they started"

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

If you’re shopping around for a rooftop AC unit, you may hear them referred to as “package units.” That’s because rooftop AC systems are all-in-one heating and cooling units that connect directly to your home’s ductwork. If your AC repair pro references a package unit, they are referring to the system on your roof.

Yes, you can clean your air conditioner filter as a temporary fix for cleaning up dirt, but you’ll eventually need to replace it once the dust starts to accumulate. Use a vacuum with a hose attachment to clean your air filter at least once per year or more often if you have pets.

On a summer day, expect your AC to run between 12 and 16 hours. However, this time frame depends on just how hot it is outside and the comfortable temperature you’re hoping to maintain indoors. Assuming the size of your AC is appropriate for the space you’re trying to cool, it shouldn’t be a problem for it to work this many hours.

Some AC filters, known as reusable filters, can be cleaned and reinserted. Most AC filters, however, are disposable and cannot be cleaned.

On average, replacing an AC compressor costs between $800 and $2,300, but it could cost as much as $2,800. There are a few factors that impact the price of a compressor replacement, including the type and size of the compressor, as well as the type of HVAC system and local labor rates.
