"They responded quickly. Through in what they did and gave me options. I thought the price they charged to remove and install a toilet was high but I would rate everything else 5 stars"

"Here for several hours. He did it with water jets instead of logger type. They can clear out the drain pipe without damaging the clay pipes. The company even used a camera to check the lines after the job was done."

Chris was great.  He was punctual, professional, and polite.  From my description of what had happened with the toilet overflow, he was able to use the right tools for the job the first time.  Chris answered all my questions and gave me helpful tips for common plumbing issues, such as how to know if your toilet bowl is leaking.  He checked all the water pipes, drains, and connections.  He also noticed that my washer hoses were worn and suggested a type that would give me better wear.  Chris wore shoe guards and left the place clean.  This was a $99 Coupon Deal and I felt that I got my money worth!

Toilets questions, answered by experts

The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is around $100, and prices range from $50 up to $150, depending on your location, the experience of the plumber, and how accessible your toilet is. In most cases, a professional plumber can replace your fill valve in under an hour, although it might take longer if they also need to fix or replace other components at the same time.

Your toilet handle might not come back up if the nut is loose or the bolt threads are stripped. Try to tighten the mounting nut and wrap plumber’s tape around the handle bolt to fix stripped threads. It’s possible the handle was improperly installed. If that’s the case, you can use the instructions above to correct the handle’s position.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

If you have to hold the toilet handle (also called the toilet lever) down to flush, you probably have a chain problem. A chain that cannot fully lift the flapper will close too early and not clear the toilet bowl. Try adjusting the chain length so there’s about ½ inch of slack.

Recaulk your toilet at least every five years. If you feel like your toilet is getting wobbly before that, it still might be time for a new caulking. Never directly place new caulk over existing caulk because that doesn’t produce lasting results. Also, caulking over existing moldy caulk does not kill out the mold by suffocating it, so if you have mold, be sure to get rid of it before recaulking.
