Small jobs welcome

"I initially met and worked with Scott on our extensive home renovation. He was our project coordinator as well as a creative and talented carpenter and all around skilled handyman. There really wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Scott was great at repurposing our materials and coming up with thoughtful solutions. From new walls, ceilings, hardwood floors, bathrooms, new exterior deck, and custom bunks…Scott did it all. As an interior decorator, and knowing Scott’s talents, I pulled him in to work on a large client job. Again, his project management skills along with carpentry talents, really brought the project to life. Custom lighted wood walls, adult bunk room and amazing golf/pub room were just the highlights. Scott always left the job site clean and organized and his client communication is unsurpassed. He was always positive and proactive. There is no one I would rather work with. Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. It’s okay to leave a pellet stove on overnight, and these stoves can provide 24 to 48 hours of warmth from one ignition. However, you should practice proper pellet stove maintenance, like cleaning the burn pot before each use, deep cleaning the unit at least once per year, and running the fan when the stove is lit.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

If a light switch is off, it’s very unlikely to cause a fire. For a fire to start, the switch has to be on, activating an electrical current, and the wiring must be faulty. However, the malfunctioning light switch could cause an intermittent current to move across the electrical wire. This issue could become a fire hazard with another device connected to the wire. You should replace the bad light switch as soon as you notice it or call an electrician.

No, but they both serve distinct life-saving purposes. Smoke detectors primarily sense the presence of smoke, typically caused by a fire, and emit loud alarms to alert occupants to evacuate. In contrast, carbon monoxide detectors monitor the levels of carbon monoxide gas, an odorless and colorless but deadly substance produced by incomplete combustion of fuels. When CO levels become dangerous, CO detectors sound alarms to warn inhabitants of potential poisoning risks.

Yes, spider webs are flammable, taking them from minor household nuisance to something more dangerous. Silk boasts no built-in resistance to fire, though it takes an abundance of spider webs to actually catch fire and spread. A cobweb here and there poses no major fire safety risk, so it’s not a cause for concern.
