"I had a devastating flood and put out an SOS on a Rockford FB page at 9:30 pm. Greg contacted me within minutes and was able to come the next morning to see the disaster. He was so kind, informative, and patient with all my questions. He contacted my insurance adjuster, provided a detailed quote and got started with the work within a few days...even coming over on a Sunday to fix my floor where the remediation crew had left staples sticking out of the kitchen floor and ground and removed the staples. Greg went above and beyond to work with me so that the project was done timely and within the insurance company budget. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are. Work was top-notch! You will not be disappointed! I will happily call them for anything I need in the future. Absolutely no complaints. Thanks, Greg!!!!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

To properly clean and maintain your skip trowel drywall texture, dust the surface weekly with an electrostatic duster or vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Never scrub the surface. You can remove stains by gently applying a mild detergent solution with a paint roller, removing it with a damp roller, and drying with a dry roller. To cut down on cleaning frequency, avoid indoor smoking and limit the use of fireplaces.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

Very little. One inch of water can stain walls, warp wood, and create a perfect environment for mold growth. One to two inches of water can do significant damage to drywall, insulation, and electrical systems. Anything over that is considered an extensive flood, often resulting in severe structural damage.

You should always hang drywall from the top down. Starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight, tight line between the ceiling and the wall. Any gaps that occur will be at the bottom, where they are easier to manage. You can either cut the bottom piece of drywall to fit the remaining space or cover the gap with baseboard trim. Additionally, starting at the top is physically easier, as you won't have to fit the top sheet into a tight space between the lower sheet and the ceiling, or try to balance the upper sheets on the lower ones while securing them.

Cracks, holes, water damage, and dents from heavy equipment often require repair.
