I had received other quotes for my project, but I felt Dickâ s quote was very fair. The project was completed in the time frame he had given me looks great! They were respectful of my home, and cleaned up after each days work. He communicated well and I never had a problem contacting him with questions or even having to reschedule an appointment to discuss some details. He was very willing to â work with meâ . "I hired JLM Home Solutions to install all my interior doors and closets including frames/casings in my upstairs. Jason was a horrible person the entire time I hired him. He acted like a nice person just to get hired. I regret hiring him. Unfortunately I had signed a contract by the time I found out he was no good. Every time I brought up something that was not done right, he’d yell and raise his voice at me. He’s very rude and unprofessional with the worst customer service. He was rude on text, rude on phone and rude in person. Jared, I guess one of his employees was a great person, very polite and did an amazing job. He worked on the project in a professional manner. He didn’t come back though to finish the project because Jason sent another person instead, David, who did an awful job. Jason didn’t want to hear it that David’s work was not the greatest. I had to put a stop payment after I found out one of the closet doors wasn’t installed right and other things that were wrong. Jason got so upset that he had to come back to fix the problem after I told him I didn’t want David. Jason came to my house but failed to fix the problem still. Instead he made me feel threatened in my own house. He was all in my face yelling at me saying nothing was wrong with the closet. Even my little dog was scared. I had to call my daughter and son to come over because I was so terrified that he was maybe going to hurt me. I stayed on the phone all the time while he was there so someone could hear his abusive behavior. That day after Jason left, I had to get a second opinion on the closet. Another contractor couldn’t believe the way the closet was installed and for Jason to insist it was okay. He left the old frame on and didn’t want to here when I mentioned it. I’ll have this closet removed and a new one with new frame installed the right way. I had to insist Jason deduct some money for that closet from the balance owed to him. A couple of days later, I noticed my kitchen door they installed still had cracks on the inside frame close to the lock. I had mentioned that to him. I texted him to let him know with pictures showing the cracks. Now Jason won’t respond to my text, email or phone. I asked him to send one of his guys to fix the door. Not him because I don’t want him around me. I’ve tried everything to get to him. I know he’s ignoring me. I paid him so much money for this project. If I don’t hear from him I’ll have no choice but to file small claims. He cannot leave my door like that after I paid him so much money and thinks he can just get away with it. If there was an option of zero stars, that’s what I’d have given JLM."

"This was our first big remodeling project and our expectations were quite high. However . . . Carpentry Plus far exceeded our expectations. They did a beautiful job and, it being our first remodel, were very helpful with suggestions on what was needed, from what items were needed, from cabinetry to backsplash to countertops to flooring. We'll be hiring them again for our next project."

"Quality of product installed and workmanship I am pleased with. However, post install is why I have deemed necessary to leave this review. The crew left food waste in our yard and gutters. Lawn was not adequately swept for nails and staples. Upon reinstalling my TV antenna, observed pieces of shingle, siding, aluminum flashing, nails and staples in one gutter. This prompted me to inspect all gutters, where I found more of the same. Had two exhaust vents installed for bathroom fans. The crew did not leave necessary couplers to connect provided duct to vents in attic. The project manager provided necessary couplings by personally delivering to my house which I am appreciative of. Discovered packaging material from shingles, along with shingle remnants in my attic. The sales presentation and documentation was why I chose Palmer Construction over lowest bidder, about $5000. The owner and sales person have yet to reply to my emails and/or phone messages. The project manager is the only staff who contacted me and followed up. Not how I would run my business or manage my staff. They also jeopardized an opportunity to earn an additional project. I got a new roof which hopefully will last until I move and they got my money."

"I hired AA Hardwoods a few years back to refinish original oak floors as well as original baseboards and window casings in my 1930s house. Some of the baseboards were painted (probably many times over the decades), and the window casings were in ROUGH shape. Michael and his team are some of the most professional contractors we’ve hired. Michael was great about realistic about expectations, given that the pieces had been in place for 85 years. He warned that some pieces might break or not be salvageable. But he was amazingly careful and saved I think all of the original parts with some small exceptions. The floors and all the other trim work look awesome. At one point when one of Michael’s staff was putting the trim in, I noticed that one piece was out of order. Michael came personally and fixed it with no problem. They did spend more time on the project than originally expected, and so were over budget by a bit. Michael was kind enough to split the overages. I would definitely work with them again, and in fact, I have a new project, which is what reminded me to write this review. Definitely recommend!"
