The company that made the cabinets was outstanding and very professional. When it came to the counter top EZ Services told us it would take 1 1/2 slabs of Granite not one, but told us he would hold on to the Granite not used so we could use it at a later date. At this time we do not know if he still has it or not. On the last day I pointed out that one wall he had half sanded still had the Pop Corn effect on the other half. He told me to go to Home Depot and buy a can of Pop Corn spray to make it match! My husband finished skim coating the walls and we painted the room. If were his, he wouldn't do anything to the master bath. If potential buyer wanted the house, bathroom wouldn't be issue. (Bath is 12 feet x 16 feet, currently has jetted tub, shower, linen closet, double sinks and toilet has its own "room"). Counter tops are currently marbelite, mirrors are small and don't show well).
I pressed Dave re:ballpark for granite top, change out lights and current shower. Dave looked around, threw out figures for each of upgrades and said he'd be happy to do work if I wanted it done, but honestly didn't see anything that would stop a buyer. I chuckled. Thanked him for his honest opinion and evaluation. Best $49 I've spent in long time. Dave is just kind of contractor I'd love to do business with. My wife and I went in on a Saturday and the place was crowded. In spite of the crowd everyone was very helpful and we ended up working with Robert Straky, the owner. He normally did not work on Saturday's but came in because he thought it might be busy. He was very patient with us and showed us many slabs that could meet our needs. My wife had some color samples from our kitchen and we finally selected a color that would work. I had a made a drawing of the kitchen with accurate measurements so Bob was able to give us a ball park estimate on the spot. We liked the estimate and gave a 50% deposit. Our kitchen is quite large and we would need over 100 square feet of granite. Because of this it would require selections from three slabs of granite. We arranged for someone to come out to do a field measure about a week later. A gentleman named Carey came out and took very accurate measurements and plugged them into a machine that produced a digital picture of the kitchen. By the way, he calls himself Cary Granite as a take off on the movie star. HA, HA. This information would then used to build a plastic template of the kitchen which would show every aspect of the tops. This was on a Wednesday and he said we could go back to the showroom on Friday and work with Lorenda who would actually tape the three slabs to show us exactly where the cuts would be made and exactly where the seams would be. She did a great job and my wife and I could really visualize what our new tops would look like. They had pulled the three slabs out of inventory and had them lined up for our convenience. We scheduled the install for 1 1/2 weeks later. The installation went beautifully Two gentlemen named Che and Paul arrived on time and placed tarps everywhere to protect the floors. They had the old tops out within an hour which seemed unbelievable and they did it without damaging anything. I don't know how they worked with the heavy, heavy new tops but they did it. They were very precise and got the two seams so you could not even see them. They attached the undermount sink and placed the cooktop. The finished product was absolutely beautiful. They carefully cleaned the kitchen and were on their way to another job after over seven hours at my home.Very, very professional. We would certainly recommend World Stone Group. Marble And Granite Service reviews from real Angi homeowners in Auburn, MI
Ended ok but had to redo a faucet installatio and also cracked granite. Left to subcontractors to do and they did fix faucet and replaced granite but disappointed that there was no checking up on these re-dos or a final check of the whole project.

FAQs for marble and granite service projects in Auburn, MI
Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install.
Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:
Makrana: $12 per square foot
Pink: $25 per square foot
Carrara: $40 per square foot
Statuatrio: $50 per square foot
Cultured: $65 per square foot

Marble countertops cost$3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.
Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:
Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining
Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches
Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair
Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors
Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.
Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture.
Varieties of granite include:
Alaska white: $35 per square foot
Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot
Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot
Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot
Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot
Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot
Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot
Solarius: $60 per square foot
Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour.
Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:
Marble tile: $7–$10
Granite tile: $5–$15
Marble slab: $25–$60
Granite slab: $50–$100
