"Rob is a professional -- personable, knowledgeable, experienced, and perhaps best of all, smart and innovative and able to create good solutions for difficult challenges, for both indoor and outside plumbing. As an example, we had a very complex main sewer leak in an old house with many drains feeding in, and Rob developed the most efficient solution that was superior to the existing main set-up, and it will last for decades. He also thought creatively in putting in an instant-on water heater where there was limited space in the house and created an excellent system there as well. He's also thought of commonsense ways for us to better winterize our plumbing, and more. Simply said, although I don't want to share Rob ..., for the greater good, I have to. My regular electrician was too busy but this was a fire hazard which demanded immediate attention. Wouldn't book with Baker's company again just because of outrageous price."

You might notice that your air conditioner isn’t running as effectively as it once did. Specifically, your AC unit could take longer to cool your home, or it might struggle to remove humidity from the air. Higher utility bills and hissing sounds coming out of your AC could also indicate a leak.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).

If refrigerant levels are low, it can cause the evaporator coil to freeze up. Low freon causes a drop in pressure, which will make the coil too cold and cause moisture to freeze on the coil. Your system may be low on refrigerant because of a leak. 

Make sure to have maintenance performed twice a year, and contact your local HVAC technician if you suspect your system has low freon levels.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.
