"Generators of Maine just completed the installation of a 14kw generator with parallel transfer switches, to protect 2 separate metered panels at a rental property that I own. I didn't even know that this was possible, until Doug Sawyer suggested it. The incremental cost of protecting the additional panel with the parallel transfer switch arrangement was a fraction the cost of an additional generator and transfer switch. Throughout the job, Doug and his crew were awesome. I am a terrible snoop who enjoys technology, so I hung around just watching and learning. They didn't seem to mind my presence and were friendly and informative through out the install. Every aspect of the job was 100% top-notch. Doug also managed to under bid his nearest competitor on every component and aspect of the job, including the annual maintenance contract, which I deemed to be worth the $$$. I highly recommend Generators of Maine."

"I hired W B Lighting Rods/William Burden to install lightning rods on my home. I spoke to William on a Monday and by Thursday before 1 PM the lightning rods were installed on my home. William explained everything he was going to do before he did it. "This company is obviously nationwide and hires local contractors.  I trusted Agies List that all contractors are licensed, bonded and have background checks.  This person was a handyman and not qualified to wall mount, conceal wires, add electrical outlet.  He  spend five hours in my home, for a job that should have taken two hours and left the area in a disaster.  The TV was hung close to the ceiling, the wires were hanging down from the TV, and the receiver was sitting on top of a plaster box because the cord was too short.  He was obviously not qualified to install TV wall mounts.  I have photos.    As soon as he left, I called Best Buy Geek Squad.  They were able to come out the next day and mount the TV professionally.  I have used the geek squad in Virginia and they are highly qualified.  They charge more than this nationwide company but you get what you pay for.  I called Angies List the day after the disaster and said i did not want to rate this company but I wanted to talk to a manager. No one called me to apologize. I have cancelled my membership.  Do not use this company unless you can be assured that the local contractor is qualified and is licensed.  You should never let anyone into your home that has not had background checks.

"We needed electrical service re- established at an existing work site (pedestal and enclosure). Owner seemed a bit informal with the quotation - I had to insist on a written quote, and when it was provided, was a one line quote that didn’t break down materials or labor. They didn’t start the work until last minute ( but that may have been due to weather). It seemed that their customer service can use some more attention. They did acceptable quality, but we will probably look for different contractor when we need all the other work to be done on the new house."

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.
