"TG Painters were great to deal with. From initial consultation last fall right through to completion this Spring! Tyler and his crews were on time as scheduled. Prompt, courteous and hard working. Communication during the project was good. They did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our home and staining our deck. SO happy with the results,"

"Most amazing paint job ever. Tux is amazing and thorough, we were unsure of the color picked, he helped us get it darkened, no extra cost. Fixed siding that needed to be fixed. I will only have Redo/Tux paint our house again."

"I hired Lenzen Pro Painting to paint the exterior of my home along with some stucco repair. They did a fantastic job. I am very happy with the results. Everyone at Lenzen is a pro at their jobs. I received a detailed itemized estimate which none of the other companies I got estimates from did. The person who prepped my house was thorough to prevent over-spray and catch any drips. The stucco repairs came out much better than I thought they could and after painting it's very hard to tell where any repairs had been done. Oscar, the person who prepped my house and did the repairs, also painted my house. It was done very professionally. Small imperfections and problems areas around the exterior have completely vanished. My home looks great. I will use this company again for my future painting projects. I recommend this company for its professionalism, great communication throughout the project and, quality results."

"These are the most skilled, professional painters I've ever used. Their work was meticulous, the results are outstanding. They arrived on time, kept a very tidy work area, and were courteous and respectful of my privacy in my home while they painted the exterior. They were especially knowledgable about the type of exterior stain my house required. I'd recommend Stuart's to anyone who wants superior quality results delivered on time and within budget."

"I hired Don to paint the downstairs interior of my new house. I hired him the Sunday before Christmas and he worked right through the holiday week and finished the job on time. His prices were extremely competitive. He also was very clean. I had the flooring contractor coming in after him and he took great care not to splash paint on the floor. He did a great job painting walls, even caulked around the window frames where he felt a draft. My family is very excited to move into our new home. Now we can feel welcomed when we walk in everyday. I plan on hiring him to paint the trim as soon as the funds open up in my budget."

Painting questions, answered by experts

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

For homes in areas with extreme weather, high heat, or intense sun exposure, high-quality acrylic paint is the best option. Acrylic paint is durable, resistant to both heat and cold, and provides a protective barrier with excellent UV resistance. For best results, look for acrylics that contain natural earth pigments, which are better suited for resisting sun damage. While oil-based paint is also durable, it can be prone to fading in high heat and can become too viscous to apply easily in cold temperatures. Additionally, choosing a neutral or light color like gray, beige, or white can help, as these colors absorb less heat than darker shades.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Yes, you can paint galvanized chain link, but the process is a bit more difficult as it requires additional prep work. Before applying the primer and paint, you must remove the original coating from the metal, which can be time-consuming. If the original coating is not removed, the primer and paint will not bond properly and cause peeling over time.
