"Best Co. is "The Best". My husband and I relocated to ME after renting our house for ten years. Oh my, work, work and more work. I was overwhelmed. I started with my first project, Trees. In came, Warren Howard ,owner of Best & Co. Mr. Howard responded instantaneously to our request for an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. After consulting with several services (3), we selected Best & Co. for knowledge, reasonable costs and a great understanding of our goals. The employees are hard workers and take pride in their workmanship. No corners cut! We discovered thru our tree project, that Best & Co. provided many other services. We hired Mr. Howard & Co. to do: 1) excavation work in our back yard (remove pool, grading, rebuild shape of yard), 2) regrade our driveway, 3) electrical work in house, 4) plumbing, 5) remove and rebuild front porch of house, 6) rebuild stairs in house, 7) repair outside house structure ; and, 8) paint the house. Mr. Howard and his employees are very disciplined ,take pride in their job and accommodating working with their clients. We have been very pleased with their work and results. 5 ??? Mr. Howard and his employees have made our transition to Maine much easier. Thank you, Robyn and Chris"

"Excellent job! Dave was the first to quote the job and had a better price. He came with crew on time and finished everything I'd requested in one full day as quoted! The work involved extensive tree and brush removal as well as trimming branches to open up view corridors. I wholeheartedly recommend Dave. If he quotes you a job, he will deliver."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Underground downspouts refer to the sections of downspout extensions that lead away from your home and gutter system. While they cost more than traditional extensions, they can provide several benefits, such as less frequent damage and no need to move them for lawn care tasks. Whether they're worth it or not depends on your budget at installation time and how much convenience they'll add to your situation.

Trenches are typically 12 to 24 inches deep and 8 inches wide. However, the required depth depends on the specific project and local ordinances. For example, a French drain may need to be 18 inches deep, while a water pipe might require a depth of 24 inches and a drainage pipe 36 inches. Your city or county may have specific regulations, so it's wise to consult with an excavation professional to determine the correct depth for your project.

Above ground pools are not buried in the ground. Typically, above ground pools are semi-permanent. One reason they’re more affordable is that you don’t have to dig for an inground pool and pour concrete or another material. However, you can choose to install a semi inground pool, which is a hybrid between the two.

Chipmunks dig their burrows about three feet deep and up to 30 feet long. The entrances can be two inches wide or more. Chipmunks are fiercely protective of their burrows and use them to protect the nuts and seeds they gather for the long winters.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.
