"Excellent service: rugs were overdue for cleaning and they came out very well. Staff was responsive and professional. Really appreciated the pick up and delivery, and flexibility on extending the return date due to our schedule. Not sure if price was competitive as I liked talking to them right away and didn't bother shopping for price. Will use their services again."

Customers say: Terrific value

"I had a serious mold problem in my garage and basement, and I needed a reliable and affordable company to take care of it. I came across mold bros online and gave them a call. It was the best decision I ever made. They were incredible from start to finish. They offered me a reasonable price, arrived on schedule, and completed the job faster than I thought possible. They didnâ t push me to buy anything I didnâ t need or change the plan halfway through. They were very professional and respectful. They told me exactly what they were doing, took good care of my stuff, and left everything spotless. They also thought ahead of what the next contractors would need to fix the damaged areas. They exceeded my expectations in every way. They kept me updated, every step of the way, and made me feel like we were on the same side. They used their skills to listen to me and address my concerns effectively. They made the whole process easy and stress-free. I canâ t recommend mold bros enough to anyone who needs mold remediation"

"They were quick and thorough and knowledgeable and tested air inside and out and then recommended mediation. They don’t do that so there’s no conflict of interest. They recommended a company but left it up to me."

"The inspection report was the most thorough I have seen. The property was old and required a detailed and thorough inspection. Main Choice Inspections did a great job, gave a verbal report immediately after the inspection and provided a very detailed report with recommendations within a couple of days. Good value for money. I would highly recommend."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold doesn’t require much airflow to make it out from behind walls and into your living space, making you sick. HVAC systems can actually pull the mold from behind walls and spread it through your home. While the mold may be out of sight, moisture transfer from the wall can also spread the mold from behind the wall into your living space and air. Any cracks in the walls or bad insulation only compound this effect.

Figuring out why you have a musty smell in your house is the first step to getting rid of it. Mold or mildew is most likely causing the unpleasant odor. People use these terms interchangeably, but they’re actually different.

Mold is a fungus that loves to grow in moist, humid places. It’s typically black or green and has a raised, uneven texture. Stay vigilant for signs mold may be growing in your home.

You’ll find mildew growing on your shower walls and in your bathroom’s nooks and crannies. It’s a specific type of mold that grows flat. Mildew is usually white, gray, or yellow.

Many types of mold spores and fungi spores are constantly present in the air, but they need a friendly surface and moisture to grow. Should some of these spores land on paper or wood with significant moisture present—such as drywall with a paper cover that is soaking up water from a leak—mold or fungi could begin growing. Dampness from leaky pipes, condensation on windows, leaks in a roof, flooding in a basement, or high, prolonged humidity in a small area all can create the excess moisture that mold and fungi need to grow in your home.

Mold is not guaranteed to grow on wet drywall, but the risk increases significantly the longer the material remains wet. Mold and mildew can begin to grow in as little as 24 to 48 hours, especially in optimal conditions, which include moist, dark places with temperatures between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. If the drywall is too wet to dry within that timeframe, mold can grow and spread. In any instance of water damage, it is wise to get a mold inspection to be certain that none has taken up residence in your home.

Poor maintenance can cause some health concerns, although these are more common in commercial misters than residential versions. For example, stagnant water can become a breeding ground for bacteria, some of which can be dangerous to human health, especially when inhaled. Regular flushing of the system before seasonal use should prevent issues like these.

Otherwise, avoid using mosquito misters with pesticides or plant misters with fertilizers near humans. These misters are not designed for cooling sprays around decks or patios, but for more utilitarian purposes.
