"I was very impressed with the services of Nova Junk Removal from initial contact to completion. They had kindly squeezed me into a busy schedule, but the two gentlemen called 30 minutes before their arrival, and arrived 100% online. The guys were friendly, courteous, well spoken, professional, and very good at their job. They did everything in their power to make The move completely painless for me. They actually charge me less than I was quoted, as the load was not that large (they also accept cash check or credit card on the spot!) So, from initial appointment through payment, I cannot recommend Nova Junk Hauling highly enough. I have added them to my contact book, and will most happily look forward to using their services again. Thank you, Nova Junk!"

"We had an above ground oil tank removed from the basement. The staff were professional. They came in and had the project done within a few hours which included removing the remaining oil, cutting the tank and removing the remaining lines. The oil smell was intense, but they had a spray or something that they used to minimize the smell. We are very pleased with the services."

Waste Removal Services questions, answered by experts

In many cases, you can sell or upcycle rebar that you don't need. Rebar is often repurposed to make furniture, decorations, and other structural projects. However, if you want to recycle rebar, you'll need to separate it from any other materials you worked with, like concrete, and then contact your local municipality to see if they have a recycling program near you.

The most affordable way to get rid of junk often involves a do-it-yourself approach, especially if you don't have a large amount of debris. Start by sorting your items into categories: donate, recycle, sell, or trash.

  • Donate or Sell: Usable goods can be donated to local charities. You can also list items for free or for a low price on platforms like Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

  • Use Municipal Services: Your city's regular garbage collection or bulk pickup days can be the cheapest option. However, be sure to check community guidelines for quantity limits and accepted materials. You can also take recyclables to a city drop-off center.

  • Haul it Yourself: If you have a truck or suitable vehicle, loading the junk and taking it to a local transfer station, public dump, or waste disposal facility is a very cost-effective method.

If a DIY approach isn't possible, consider these options:

  • Rent a Dumpster: You can rent a dumpster, fill it yourself, and the rental company will haul it away. This is a good middle-ground if you can do the labor but don't have a vehicle for transport.

  • Hire a Junk Removal Service: While typically the most expensive choice, hiring a professional junk removal team is the most time-efficient and requires the least effort from you. This is a good solution if your city's services won't accept the items or if you are unable to move them yourself.

To get the most out of your dumpster rental, regardless of its placement, you should review what you can put in it and strategically organize your disposal. For instance, putting large items on the bottom helps you save space when it comes to the little stuff at the end of the project.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

Junk haulers remove items that residential trash removal won’t take. Bulky items, like furniture, tires, and oversized yard waste, are common things they can remove from your home. Other items include chemical waste, electronics, and construction equipment. If you have a question about what your local junk removal service will remove, you should call them ahead of time to check on the best disposal options.
