"Excellent! Everyone with this company is highly professional. The work was done exactly as specified and the workers were friendly and knowledgeable. They assisted me in getting a PEPCO Energy Rebate. I am very happy I chose Atlas to do this work and recommend them to others."

"I worked with Brian on getting everything set up from getting the inspection, to dealing with my insurance company, and made sure that he checked in during the installation to see how everything was going. ExteriorMax did a fantastic job installing my roof. They were respectful of my property, explained the process with delivering the materials and the clean up job was great. ExteriorMax really made sure that I felt comfortable, never felt pressured, and follow ups even days after the install showed they really cared. They have a customer for life in me."

"Our house is finished with a Drvit Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS). We needed a company to repair cracks and bulging in the exterior walls. We got several estimates - E.M.Texture was very competitive. What impressed us most was how patient and transparent Rob was. He explained what needed to be done and provided several alternatives depending on the scope of the work. He was very responsive and answered all of our questions. The crew was very prompt, professional and courteous. They cleaned the work area every evening. The finished product looks terrific. I can't over emphasize how terrific E.M. Texture was to work with. We highly recommend them."

"This friendly and trustworthy team absolutely exceeded my expectations. This was the most pleasurable contractor experience I've ever had. There was cear, patient, honest, and thorough communication of project details & intentions and answers to my many questions. A very fair and competitive price on the quote. They handled snags and difficulties appropriately and with the utmost of care. They thoroughly cared for our home and their surroundings during the work and after completion. If I had to list a complaint it would only be that the ventilation fans were quite loud, but these industrial units left us with no lingering smells from the spray foam. Thank you!!!"

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Basements are generally required to have windows for your safety. At a minimum, windows should provide an egress in the event of a fire. But basement windows do more than offer a way out; basement windows also offer natural light and ventilation in an area of your home that is otherwise dark and musty.

Yes, with modifications or the use of adapter kits for tricky placements.

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.
