"They were professional and delivered as promised. They removed the railing to replace the rusted part, welding a new piece to the existing railing. Then they reinstalled the railing. They strengthened the cement base of the second railing. Both railings were sanded and repainted. Our railings now look as good as new."

Our company specializes in Concrete & Masonry projects in the DC Metro area since 2003. We primarily work in the Residential & light commercial sectors. We pride ourselves on providing quality work & customer satisfaction!

"Jose and his team did an excellent job renovating our walkway to our house and finishing some back steps in our side yard. He put in lovely rails showing excellent taste in the rails. The rails are solid. When we had some work change orders, he was fair and didn't overcharge. Highly recommend him!"

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for small sections. Professional installation ensures proper alignment and durability for larger projects.

Clean regularly, inspect for rust, and repaint or seal to prevent corrosion.

Yes, installing wrought iron fencing will usually require a building permit, as do all types of fencing. Building permits for wrought iron fencing typically cost between $150 and $500, and the price will vary based on where you live and how much your local building department charges. You may also need to pay for a property survey if you’re installing wrought iron fencing on your property line. This type of survey can cost around $500, but it prevents issues with building on neighboring properties, which can be much more expensive in the long run.

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.

Installing a fence when the ground is frozen presents challenges, but it's possible with the right approach. First, mark and measure the fence line accurately. Use a power auger or manual post-hole digger to create holes in the frozen ground, ideally when it's less rigid during warmer parts of the day. Consider using pre-made fence post anchors or driving metal posts into the ground. Ensure posts are secure with concrete for stability. Allow extra time for the concrete to cure. Additionally, be cautious of frost heave, which may affect post-alignment. Installing in milder winter conditions is often more manageable.
