"Fabulous job doing our staircase! Arrived on time, worked hard through the day and cleaned up well before they left. Pleasant, friendly, lovely to have in our home. Highly recommend Larry Luckel and his brother-in-law. Job completed in what seemed like record time. Thank you both so very much!"

"Handyman on Call came to provide me with an estimate for installing a beam that was required in my basement to provide additional support for a large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom above. The beam had been engineered, and I provided a drawing of what was needed. I was impressed with the company because first of all, Paul came to give me an estimate on the beam and some other items. He was very thorough and detail oriented. An estimate was forwarded to me with a complete description of the work to be done. This was followed to the letter by the crew who arrived very punctually and started with all the right equipment going down to the basement from the gitgo – laser level, radial saw, power nailer etc. ( I hate people who arrive without a laser level.) The job was completed perfectly within about 3 hours including full clean-up. I was really impressed and will certainly ask them back for future work. Real professionals."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

No, pool jets should not have air coming out. While it’s a common problem, making it seem like air coming out is the norm, bubbling pool jets are a sign of loose bearings or fittings, or low water levels. You should get to the bottom of your jets releasing air bubbles because it could be a sign that there’s air entering the pump, which can shorten the lifespan of your pump or lead to costly repairs.

It is generally not recommended to place a pool directly on grass. Doing so will kill the grass underneath, and the surrounding lawn may also be damaged by heavy foot traffic and splashes of chemically-treated water. For best results, create a clean, level surface by removing the grass and debris. You can then install a sturdier base using materials like sand, a concrete pad, or solid foam.

If you wait until fall or winter, you might see sales on pools and pool materials, enabling you to save a good amount on this home improvement project. Sometimes pool servicing companies try to make space for next year’s inventory, or the materials are cheaper when fewer construction projects happen during colder months.

No, you should not use an extension cord with an aboveground pool pump. In addition to being dangerous as a tripping hazard, use of an extension cord could void your pool pump’s warranty. This is because using an extension cord not rated for use with the pool filter pump could damage this equipment.

It's not a good idea to drain an aboveground pool into your yard since the pool water's chemicals can harm your plants and the surrounding ecosystem. Instead, it's best to drain the pool into an appropriate sewer so it can be processed at a water treatment plant. You might also be able to drain it into your storm drain, depending on your region. Check with your city to learn about any relevant regulations.
