"In a word "Outstanding" company and people. I am a repeat Hydro-Tech Irrigation Company customer. We moved into a new residence in May 2020. The original irrigation system in the new house had many shortcomings. In September 2020 we hired Hydro-Tech to do a complete irrigation system renovation. The sales representative, Ron Apostolakis, who redesigned the system and coordinated the project, the 6-person crew who completed the work, and office staff were extremely conscientious, hard working, and helpful. We are very happy with the end result. Thank you for a job well done!"

"They were on time and brought enough people to finish the job in two days. They were also able to notice a few potential issues and we solved them as an addendum to the job (rotting tree sloping land). A year later and my lawn still looks good...with their bi-weekly grass-cutting of course."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Grass will grow back after being sprayed with vinegar. If you’re looking for an alternative to chemical herbicides, vinegar can help you manage weeds. Use a mixture of 1 gallon of white vinegar, 1 cup of salt, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap to spray on your grass. This will kill the grass at the surface while keeping the roots intact, so it’ll eventually grow back. You’ll need to use an herbicide or manually remove the whole root system to get rid of grass for good.

The time you should wait before walking on new grass depends on whether you used seed or sod. If you laid new grass seed, it's best to wait about eight weeks before stepping on it, as new grass is fragile. For sod, it typically establishes itself in the ground in about two weeks. For heavy traffic, like driving a car across a new grass driveway, you might need to wait an entire season.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.

Depending on the lawn treatments, the best times of the year to redo your lawn are between mid-August and mid-September for overseeding and renovation treatments. For areas such as the southern United States, lawn aeration works best during the fall, when the temperatures begin to drop. Otherwise, early spring is your next best bet because the grass is fresh and ready to absorb nutrients, and the temperature isn’t hot enough to fry the grass and the renovation materials.

There are plenty of products to help green up your grass. Try an iron supplement spray or fertilizer that is rich in nitrogen. You can also apply a thin layer of compost on top of your lawn at the beginning of spring to give the grass a nutrition boost, which helps it achieve that bright color you are looking for.
