"Sailo is a very experienced plumber and performed the work servicing my backed up toilet and slow draining tub quickly. He gave me an honest assessment that he could fix the toilet when I mentioned that I was going to replace it and saved me money. He is courteous and timely in his work."

"Had sewer line break..was very impressed with personnel, Mr. Woodrow was very professional in doing a great job in a messy and tricky situation with my sewer line/old home. He took time to figure out the problem with me having no additional help.. never got frustrated - took time of understanding the complications of my old homeâ  s layout.. so yes Iâ  m impressed with my new plumber.. why wouldnâ  t I - proved me wrong..but not really - he told me it was going to be all good!!!.and my pockets arenâ  t hurting too much either-definitely love that!"

"Zac called me within 5minutes of me speaking to the call center. He arrived alone when he said he would. We have a well cap that is underground so it must be dug up. Unfortunately I could not remember the exact location so he dug for more than an hour. Finally my husband said to move down the path more Zac found my sons helped remove the 3 foot round concrete cover and pull the pump. Zac did all the work needed and put the pump back . He did above and beyond for us in the rain. Would definitely recommend them."

"From moment one Art's Plumbing was accessible, informative, affordable and skilled. They installed a water softener, a whole house water filtration system (which were scheduled) and also helped us by unclogging a kitchen/laundry line that coincidentally got clogged a day before their scheduled visit. Dustin is an amazing professional, highly skilled and patient to deal with all my questions. I gladly give them 5 stars and strongly recommend you contacting them if you need an excellent service delivered to you place."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

One of the many benefits of a pressure-assist toilet is how long it lasts. You can expect a well-maintained one to last up to 30 years. That's five years longer than a standard gravity-fed toilet, so it can be a worthwhile investment if you’re willing to spend more on your toilet installation.

The cost of making a bathroom accessible can be $3,000 to $25,000, but you could spend as much as $50,000 building a brand-new ADA-compliant bathroom. Some bathroom accessibility upgrades to consider include:

  • Installing grab bars: $100–$500

  • Lowering cabinets and vanities: $1,200–$2,500

  • Installing modified doors: $700–$1,500

  • Installing a modified toilet: $400–$1,000

  • Installing an accessible sink and faucet: $100–$1,000

  • Adding a walk-in tub: $1,100–$17,000

  • Converting a bathtub into a walk-in tub: $350–$1,000

  • Installing a wheelchair-accessible shower: $2,000–$7,500

  • Installing a shower ramp: $16–$300

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.

If a bolt at the bottom of your toilet tank is loose, it can directly cause a leak. If a bolt securing the toilet base to the floor is loose, it won’t directly cause a leak but can lead to the same result over time. That’s because the loose bolts will eventually move the wax seal or cause cracks in the bowl from the toilet being wobbly.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.
