"I hired a plumber through HomeAdvisor using prepay but I would not recommend this service. The contractor left a leaky pipe that caused water coming up through carpet. I had to purchase a wet vacuum to dry out the carpet. I had to contact HomeAdvisor again and hired Dave the Plumber, LLC who had to redo the installation done previously. Dave the Plumber replaced all the piping and outside spigot because of a water leak the previous contractor left. Thank you Dave the Plumber for being a professional and a job well done."

"We were fortunate to employ Trim-Tek Plumbing to repair a leaking supply line in an upstairs bathroom. Although this project was not a dire emergency, there were visible water stains on the ceiling in the lower level. Eli arrived exactly on time, diagnosed the problem quickly, and repaired the leak in a short time. Eli was both professional and personable. If you’ve accessed the bolts and nuts that hold your toilet seat in place and can’t unscrew them, it’s possible that they were overtightened or that the material corroded over time, making it impossible to unscrew. If that’s the case, you can either call in a plumber for help, or you can DIY a solution if you’re careful. Lay down masking tape around the mounting bracket and then use the tape as a surface to lay a hack saw blade. Move slowly to cut through the bracket and bolt, being careful not to damage the porcelain in the process.

Toilet seats have two mounting brackets on the back that accept mounting bolts. The bolts drop through the brackets, through two small holes on the top of your toilet, and then receive nuts to hold them in place on the bottom of the toilet. If you can’t see the bolt heads, you might need to pry up the mounting bracket cover, which is a plastic piece that hides and protects the bolts.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and low water pressure. Regular maintenance prevents major disruptions.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

While you shouldn’t increase the flow of your low-flow toilet by adjusting the water level in the toilet bowl set by the manufacturer, you can make the flow as efficient as possible by ensuring the rim jets under the rim are unobstructed. To do this, use a mirror to look under the rim and scrub them with a toothbrush or a small wire to clear any debris stuck in the holes. You can also watch for leaks, make sure the internal components are in good shape, and replace them if necessary.
