"It went well. They responded promptly to my request for service. Initial inspection of the attic, they believed we had squirrels and a huge birds' nest. They then closed/screened off all entry points. However, once I reported actually seeing a raccoon in the yard, they put out traps and a camera. The raccoon avoided the traps but Mike's Pest Control was persistent, regularly checking the traps and trying different baits. They didn't stop their attempts until the raccoon was caught. If I have any other incidents like this one, I will use them again."

"I am delighted to have had Bugout recommended to me (by more than a few people) as we'd received one estimate already in the course of the home inspection and we needed a 2nd one. Bugout was able to send someone out the next day, and after inspection and an estimate, they got the job and scheduled installation for the very next day. The Bugout representative who came to inspect and provide the estimate happened to be the founder and owner of the company, Troy Wiggington, Sr. Not only was he very knowledgeable, with a long history in the field, but he was also very practical and straight-forward in his assessment and treatment plan, both of which made more sense than what the other company had proposed. I very much appreciate the philosophy which Mr. Wiggington follows with his business. I would hire them again (except I'm relocating to another state) and I highly recommend this company to anyone considering pest treatment. They were professional, considerate, timely and straight-forward, and they will deal fairly with you while ridding you of your pest problem."

"In terms of wildlife and rodent control, Adcock is the best. They're people really know what they are doing - understand animal behaviors and how to eliminate the problems humanely, and protect from future intrusions. They did have a problem with scheduling (took morning off but office had scheduled the wrong day so wasted the time off of work) and confusions on invoicing (in our favor, not theirs)- - office operations seem to need some improvement. But all and all, an excellent company - especially the professionals doing the actual work. I would not hesitate to use Adcock and recommend them to others (this is the second time we have used them - they were highly effective both times)"

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible for bats in your attic to find a way into your living spaces. Until you can properly remove the bats, the best course of action is to keep the attic doors closed and any holes sealed. Evidence suggests bats follow the airflow in your home, so they may try escaping from the attic to other parts of the house.

Badgers have a strong sense of smell, so it’s possible you can deter them with strong scents, such as applying citronella oil to the bottom of your fence, adding crushed scotch bonnet peppers sprinkled throughout your garden, or mixing both of these into a solution to spray around your home and garden.

Like a rent-controlled apartment in New York City, rodents know a good thing when they see it. If they've found a cozy nest inside your home, they will set up camp and stay there, leaving only to forage for food and water. As long as they have a warm place to sleep, raise their young, and continue access to water and food, they're going to stick around.

If you’ve had a prior bat infestation or simply want to avoid having bats invade your home in the first place, there are a few steps you can take without the need for a pro.

  • Seal entry points, such as where your chimney meets your house, or other gaps or holes exist.

  • Use bat deterrents like bright lights or ultrasonic devices to force them away from your home.

  • Reduce bat attractions like standing water and bird nectar feeders inviting bats into your yard.

Yes, honey bees can sting, but they typically only do it when they feel their hive is threatened. When honey bees are away from their hive, they’re focused on foraging for pollen and nectar, making them unlikely to sting. Only female honey bees, called workers, have stingers, and they will die if they need to use them. Generally, if left undisturbed, honey bees will leave you alone.
