When properly prepared, primed, and painted with high-quality concrete paint, a well-maintained driveway can last 5 to 10 years or more. Other factors like climate conditions, traffic volume, and lack of maintenance also impact life span. Regular cleaning, resealing, and touch-ups can extend the longevity of a painted concrete driveway, ensuring it remains both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Driveway installation is challenging. While chip seal might sound easier to apply than asphalt, the process still involves heavy machinery and professional skills. Unless you come from a construction background, we recommend hiring an asphalt company to chip seal your new driveway. If you are paving the driveway entirely with chip seal, expect to pay $5 to $10 per square foot.

The actual moisture level that is acceptable for your concrete floor depends on what primer or flooring material you plan to install above it. For this reason, you should check the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact details.

Generally, the moisture levels should be 3.5% to 4.5%, although it does vary. Some products can handle higher levels of moisture, so you should always test your concrete before purchasing your flooring materials.
