We are District Developers LLC, formerly known as CEKAD General Contractors. We are committed to building long-term relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and customers based on integrity, performance and value. We continue to meet the changing needs of our clients with our quality services delivered by the most qualified people in the DC metro area. We are recognized by many Realtors and community members for our attention to detail, quality of work, affordable pricing, and professionalism. Our projects are always completed in a timely manner and yield high customer satisfaction.

"When we hired District Developers to paint the interior of our home 2 years ago, they were wonderful. Evelyn and Cristian Figueroa, the owners, were both on the job daily, both supervising their employees and working along with them. We hired them to paint the exterior of our home in July 2018. District Developers became very disorganized, and the 5 weeks it took to complete the job were extremely stressful and aggravating. The owners’ daily supervision of their employees had dwindled to only a couple of nonconsecutive days during the week, and only for less than an hour. When we wanted to discuss an issue with the owners, they promised to “be here the next day,” which never happened. When they did answer our questions, the explanations were often vague, and they never went into detail. Part of the job included power washing and repairing mortar/replacing any bricks on the house. They didn’t work smart re the power washing/scraping resulting in a big mess that took an extra day to clean. When repairing the chimney bricks, they caused cracks in the crown; they didn’t repair the cracks, and didn’t tell us of this issue. Heavy rains ensued after this, resulting in roof leaks. We know the leaks were not there previously, as we had our roofer repair all issues before the painting began. He also said there were absolutely no cracks in the aforesaid crown. So, now, this repair is an added expense. Another part of the job included repairing and staining the back fence. When I wanted a receipt for the new lumber for the fence repair, the owner simply said she didn’t know I wanted a receipt, didn’t have it, and “hoped I’d understand.” When they repaired/replaced any rotten lumber (which was done by the owner), he simply dropped the old nails all over the back driveway. This was discovered when another contractor tried to park his truck in the driveway. This caused more work having to clean up their mess, and hopefully, no one’s tire picked up a nail. After they started the job, we learned that they mislead us, and had subcontracted the job out to another painter. And, they gave the subcontractor little direction as to what we had discussed in the original contract. This company also offers a cleaning service, which we used for the last couple of years. Up until this summer, it worked out well. But, in July, it all fell apart. The owners left their 20 y/o and 15 y/o, alone and unsupervised in our home to clean. Our contractor was working in the house, and observed them eating/drinking soda in every room while cleaning. They were on their phones constantly. Their owner mother (who claimed she was here cleaning, but wasn’t), returned once during the afternoon to bring them lunch, then left. They were in our house for over 6 hours, and not every room was cleaned. We were beyond aggravated. Needless to say, we asked for our key, and will be looking for a new cleaning service. Do not employ District Developers. They are unprofessional and disorganized, and will leave you aggravated."

"oor communication, Unorganized, Unprofessional, Has a hard time with words, Arrogant, Insults customers. Took them a long time to get a quote and each time they said they sent it, it was missing the quote attachment. Finally got their quote to trim trees and I authorized the work. I didn’t get a response to authorizing the work, so after 5 days I emailed Nina the office manager and asked "Wanted to confirm that we are on the schedule?" to which she responded "Yes! We currently are tentatively scheduled for around April 15th. Once we get closer we can nail down a more definite date." Later we discovered they made an error and scheduled my work before I had made their required deposit. They didnt tell me about the deposit until the week the work was to be performed. I agreed to go ahead and make the deposit, but Adam was upset that I complained I was never told and decided to cancel my job and make me wait another month. Adam insulted me by telling me I needed to learn to read because the deposit requirement was shown at the bottom of the near year old quote. If it was a requirement, they should not have scheduled my work until it was paid. He denied it was scheduled, so I showed him proof - emails above. Adam continued the insults by responding with a dictionary pronunciation AND definition of the word "tentatively" claiming they did not schedule me because "Tentatively" applied to waiting to receive the required deposit and signed estimate. Regardless, Adam should learn that belittling customers doesn’t work and Tentative referred to the "date of service", not to whether or not we are on the "schedule". I will never use him for any of my properties."

Snow removal services FAQs

Before hiring a snow removal company, it’s essential first to ask questions to understand the details thoroughly. Since every company has different policies and snow removal methods, it’s best to clarify upfront before you’re left in a heap of snow. Some starting questions to consider include:

  • What are the procedures for a snowstorm? Do I need to call you each time, or do you automatically come out?

  • Do you wait until after the snow has stopped falling or make multiple passes throughout the storm?

  • What is your method of removal?

  • Do you use salt after the snow is removed? Is it pet-safe?

  • How does your billing work? Do you bill extra for blizzard conditions?

  • Can I sign an annual contract, or do you bill for each storm?

The cost of an annual snow removal contract is $200 to $600. This cost is significantly impacted by the area you live in. Places that don’t receive considerable snowfall might charge less for an annual contract, and those areas that get heaps of snow throughout the fall and winter can expect to pay on the higher side. In addition, property size, expected response time, and extra services like clearing a sidewalk can also impact your cost.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.

Depending on where you live and your average snowfall, removing snow from your property yourself with either a shovel or a snowblower is reasonable. A snow shovel costs around $60, and a snowblower can range from $100 to $2,300. However, taking a DIY approach to this isn’t always the best option. In these cases, it’s best to hire a professional snow removal company:

  • If you have a large property or an extended area that needs clearing

  • If you have certain health conditions, such as mobility issues

  • If you want to save time or need the snow removed ASAP

  • If you live in an area with frequent heavy snowfall and want to offset your time spent

  • If you lack the space to store snow removal equipment

It’s no surprise that removing snow from your driveway makes coming and going significantly easier and lowers the risk of falling. However, it’s important to note that if you don’t remove snow from your driveway, you run the risk of damaging your paving. As the snow melts, water can seep into your driveway. This can lead to the formation of cracks. When the water freezes, this expands the minor cracks, leading to more significant damage.
