"I was not particularly pleased with being cornered to make a decision about the project the same day I received a quote, particularly since window treatments were going to be for the whole house. It is a business tactic; I get it. Regardless, we ended up with this company after making an informed decision. Choose a soundproof window with an STC rating of at least 45 to block bass tones or loud conversations. Laminated glass windows can reduce noise by 75%. You can also add noise-reducing curtains to further muffle loud noises.

Glazing is always done from the outside of the window, while the inside doesn’t require any glazing. This is because the main purpose of glazing is to create a weather-tight seal where the glass meets the frame, protecting against drafts and moisture. Since the exterior is exposed to the elements, that’s the side that needs the weatherproofing.
