"My partner and I chose Blackstone Kitchen and Bath for our kitchen remodeling project. We had received four other quotes from contractors and after much deliberation, we chose Blackstone. This group did not offer us the cheapest or the most expensive quote (they were more the "middle of the pack"), but we chose them because we felt they offered good value and were honest about required permits. In the beginning we worked with Joe - he worked on the design of our kitchen and we were pleased with the number of options he presented us, despite us feeling as though we knew what we wanted. Even though we had a plan in mind, we ended up choosing one of Joe's designs. We were pleased with the overall organization at the beginning of the process. The company uses buildertrend.com to manage and communicate with the customer about the project. It was easy to sign a contract with them and start the remodel. As the project continued, we worked with three other people - Justin (project manager), and Saul and Marcus (builders). We were extremely pleased with the quality of work by Saul and Marcus. Every day they came they were pleasant, respectful, and worked hard to get the job done. They were very professional and always left the house nice and clean after their days work. They were great about communicating any issues to us, and very willing to go above and beyond for us. I would recommend Saul and Marcus for your project! Joe and Justin's communication was quick and their responses were timely. We did however have issues during our project that had occurred more than once. We had a wrong cabinet ordered, resulting in a wait to re-order the correct one and to install it. Our backsplash was ordered incorrectly, and our cabinet hardware was also ordered incorrectly, causing a delay in this project. Justin was good about re-ordering supplies, but we did have to communicate our issues quite frequently about the erroneous ordering. We also had an issue with things not being done accurately - we were told by one manager that we could have a certain floor piece but another manager said we couldn't. When we decided not to do this, the floor slab was still ordered anyway. We had miscommunication about the electric work - it was a "he said this" and "the other guy said that" - no one spoke to us, the homeowners, before completing that part of the project. Overall here are our pro/cons: Pro: great workmanship, professional staff, Saul and Marcus were absolutely wonderful, project finished within time-frame presented, timely response from management when there was an issue Cons: a little costly, contract is very broad and costs are not broken down too much (aside from cabinetry, backsplash, faucet, and countertops) so there are some blurred lines when it comes to covering the cost of certain issues that popped up during our project, difficulties with getting the correct things ordered causing delay in project, some disjointed communications"

"I’m delighted with my new kitchen. When I first started my search for a kitchen remodeler, I wanted one company that handled the entire process from design, cabinets, countertops, installation, electrical, and plumbing. American Kitchen Concepts fit that requirement. Dan Millard, owner of American Kitchen Concepts, helped me envision various layouts and options, before I ultimately decided upon the final design. He had many cabinet, countertop and hardware samples to choose from. He made the selection process easy and stress-free. At demolition, his crew was courteous and respectful. They cleaned up every evening and made sure dust was under control. When the cabinets were delivered, we were informed that two critical pieces were going to be delay by at least three weeks, which would have delayed the entire cabinet install. Dan recommended alternative pieces which provided the same storage capacity and preserved the original design look. He was able to have these new cabinet pieces delivered in three days and kept the project moving forward. We had a three-week vacation planned and trusted American Kitchen Concepts to continue with the project without our daily presence. Dan kept us informed of progress and when we returned our kitchen remodel was finished. Dan conducted a quality control visit and took care of any remaining issues. I highly recommend American Kitchen Concepts. They are honest, knowledgeable and stand by their products and workmanship."

"We had a great experience with Granite Works. We contracted our countertop work on July 28th. We feel very fortunate to have met Art. He is very professional and not a high pressure sales person.  He was more of a designer and he took us out to the slab yard helping us find slabs that matched our kitchen design and equally important budget.. We were able to use their sample cabinet materials and coordinate them with the slabs, colors, movement and patterns.  He advised us on the best cuts, edgings, care, etc. Once we selected the granite within a few minutes, Art presented us with an estimate on the spot.  We placed a 50% deposit and the next day the office assistance called us to schedule our on site template. The template process was easy and thorough. It is very helpful if you take your kitchen photos with you and your detailed measurements.  That way your estimate is accurate and Art can help you with balancing movement, appropriate area for seams, if any.  Granite works provided the granite, onsite measurements, sink options, bull nose edging and included all cut outs, plus an Angie's List discount. Our price was $2500 less than a company in  the Mt. Airy. Within a week we had a template completed, in two weeks the fabrication of 2 slabs, and the installation of occurred on  August 9th. In 1 day! We elected to forego their 4" backsplash option and we designed and installed our own. Art's design consultation was very helpful.  After we finished 1/2 the backsplash we sent Art a thank you email with a photo.  He was so surprised and we were surprised and happy 1) he remembered us, and 2) he liked our natural stone tile work.  We recommend Granite Works for quality, professionalism and price.  Good luck and thanks Angie's List. "Great! He arrived on time, with the right amount of crew, tools and positive attitude! He was very experienced with Ikea cabinets and knew when we had purchased the wrong items. He also knew when to send me back to Ikea for different parts. Ikea made alot of mistakes and he knew that was common. He wrote down the numbers of the items i needed which was extremely helpful. He and his crew were fantastic and i would hire him again in the future. His prices were very reasonable and i appreciated that. I had two glass doors that were on back order so he said i could hold back $200 from his pay until they czme in. I called him on Sunday and told him i just picked them up. He told me they would be there on Monday morning to finish the job. Of course he arrived on time and he finished the job quickly. Of the 4 companies i hired to do various things in my kitchen his was the only one i didnt have issues with. I asked him to install the lights inside and underneath the cabinets and install the microwave. The lights were difficult but he worked hard until they were done. They make the whole kitchen shine! He was extremely reasonable with the microwave installation price. I asked him for several cards and already passed them out to people that wanted a new kitchen i told them he is the best installer i ever hired. He made this overwhelming project so much easier."

"I hired Mega Kitchen and Bath to remodel my kitchen and bathroom. The process started with the Project Manager, Ibrahim, coming and discussing what I wanted. He gave a detailed account to Katherine, the Designer. Her design gave me everything I needed- plenty of storage in the kitchen. My budget was small, but they stayed on budget and provided quality and stylish materials-kitchen cabinets, backsplash, countertops, sink & flooring. Bathroom tub, tile surround, flooring and accessories. Grober, Johnny and the tile guy are master craftsmen. They did an excellent job, meeting every repair challenge and putting up with me. I am very happy with this company. Hope to work with them again."

"They started at the scheduled time and proceeded to completion in an efficient and professional manner. Answers and telephone numbers were left for me to call if/should I want to change the configuration of anything done to the walls. More cabinets, hooks, etc. I found them to be an excellent provider. I cannot give any more details as too much time has passed since the work was completed.
