"I had over 1000 Sq ft of flooring installed. K&A contractors did a fantastic job and my floors look beautiful. They tore out and disposed of 30 year old carpet and paid huge attention to details to make the job look perfect. Even replacing toilet lines and baseboards that had been missing for years. I would highly recommend them them for any job due to their professionalism and attention to detail."

"Pleasant, accommodating, prompt, explained what, where, why, and how (I already knew "when". :) Most contractors don't have the integrity and openness so I'm "contractor shy". Steve is willing to help w/future fixes and I would trust his business again. It was a great experience and the price reasonable. Two thumbs up and I will contact him again. Thanks for "upping" the true word "professionalism" with this business."

"I needed a lot of yard trash removed before my property was sold. They came out, worked hard, and did everything I asked. The new owners "found" more trash, and they went back out and removed that too. They're polite and stick to their estimates. Highly recommended!"

"Cut Above Carpentry framed and installed an exhaust fan (minus the electrical work) above my garage. They worked with me to fit me into their schedule. They arrived on time for the estimate, and to complete the project. They called ahead-of-time to confirm their arrival time. The carpenters were polite and professional. They completed the job quickly, explained the work that was done, and cleaned up afterwards. Overall, a top-notch company. I can't highly recommend them enough!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.

You should change the batteries in your smoke detectors at least once per year. Mark it on your calendar or make it a holiday or birthday tradition so that you always remember it. You should also be testing your smoke alarms monthly to ensure they’re working properly and can alert you in case of an emergency.

A spark arrestor is a simple metal mesh device that prevents flammable particles from escaping from a combustion source and causing a fire. You typically find these attached to gas or diesel engines on things like cars, generators, and garden tools (lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc.). Fireplace or wood-burning stove chimneys also have spark arrestors attached to or sitting under the chimney cap to capture burning embers.

You should have either an ABC or K-rated fire extinguisher in the kitchen. ABC fire extinguishers put out wood, trash, paper, plastic, and textile fires along with grease, oil, gas, kerosene, and electrical fires. A class K fire extinguisher is specifically rated for use in the kitchen and is designed to extinguish combustible cooking materials, including grease and fat.

Ensure proper ventilation, fix leaks, and schedule regular pest inspections to protect your property.
