"Antonio was great. I had 2 ceiling fans installed on a 15 foot high pitched ceiling. The fans I purchased were meant for a ceiling with a much smaller pitch so they were not able hang straight as is. I thought I would have to wait and buy some additional hardware to complete the job but Antonio clearly communicated with me to show me why they wouldn’t work and talked me through a few ideas he wanted to try to make it work. It took a bit more time but in the end he was able to make some cuts and holes to the fans and they worked out great in the end. He saved me some time and money so I was happy to leave him with a tip. "

They called me just minutes after I clicked their name on Angi's List and had someone out to give me an estimate and had my appointment date set in record time from most companies that I have dealt with for home improvement. We got a new power box (breaker box - whatever it's call) and a new meter and a couple of new outlets put in. We also got new smoke detectors throughout the house. They had to work around some issues and relocate a bit of pipe from out water filter system that was in their way. And they just took care of it without any complaints. I didn't have to do anything. They took care of it all and had the inspector come out and get it approved. I feel safe in my home now. I highly recommend this company and I will be calling them for any future electrical work that I need done."

"Murphy Family Electric is an awesome company with very competent technicians and reasonable rates. They make the whole process pretty straightforward. I had used them to get my Tesla charger in 2018 (Cost: $799 including material). I was so impressed with their work that when I had a complex electrical job - installing a new 120v outlet requiring a new wire from the circuit breaker - I did not get any quotes but just booked them. That job was done very professionally as well (Cost: $949). Fast forward to Mar 2025, my tesla charger had problems with over heating and intermittent power loss. I called Murphy Family Electric and they sent a technician the same day who came and adjusted/cleaned the connections and spent 30 mins fixing the problem. And to my surprise the company did not even charge me anything for this. So on top of everything else you can add absolutely fantastic customer service to their list of attributes."

"I am so pleased with the great work that Robert did at my home yesterday. The project was to install four new dedicated 20A lines for my home theater. The hard part was finding a way to keep the power cables hidden from view. Robert and I discussed a convoluted route, which led at one point through an overhead narrow shaft that led across the width of the garage and the adjoining room to a closet in the house. The shaft was open from the closet, and was already being used for other cables. But the shaft was long and dark and full of obstructions. The reason for using this shaft was that otherwise the cables would be always visible both in the garage and in the room in the house. Robert worked for a long time using long flexible rods to fish the cables through. But he kept being blocked by the obstructions in the narrow passage. The point I want to emphasize is that Robert showed great patience and perseverance, and kept on trying when many other electricians may well have quit. But eventually, with a lot of work, Robert was able to successfully get the cables to the other side of the shaft, where they could be grasped and drawn through. I want to commend Robert for his great work. Now the cables are fully and carefully laid and connected, neatly and cleanly fastened, and the wall plate has power with four 20A circuits. The best part is that except for the wall plate on the wall in the home theater area, and the four new 20A circuit breakers in the circuit breaker box, virtually none of this work is visible. In every way Robert was exemplary, and he is a great credit to Holt Electrical. I interviewed other electricians before selecting Holt Electrical, but I wonder if they would have had the patience and perseverance that Robert showed in a tough and demanding situation. This was a job well done."

"Everyone needs a little Terry's Home Repairs in their life. Our oven digital display snapped off and fell through the opening. I talked to an appliance contractor [before finding Terry's Home Repairs] and he indicated that the whole control board would need to be replaced (at a cost of $430). When I asked him if he could provide a refurbished control board or if he can just resecure the existing display back to the opening, his response was "modifications" is not something he would be willing to do. At this point I began doing some research. I located Mr. Terry on Angi's List and after reading reviews and discussing the problem with him over the phone I decided to move forward. He provided an exact time he would be at the home and showed up right on time (on a separate but related note, I am really sick and tired of the 'four hour window' provided by the larger contractors - I am busy as h*** and do not have time to block off four hours of my day). Upon arrival, Mr. Terry identified the issue and provided a new bracket to secure the oven display. While there, he also fixed the exhaust fan (over the range) and also fixed a dryer vent that was coming apart. His price was fair and his work was good. I will be using him moving forward for 'odds and ends' and random things around the home. I like his background (he worked as a mechanic on a cruise ship and also worked in Alaska on HVAC related projects)."
