"Recently we replaced our screened in porch and we are so glad to have had Marc and his crew on this project. We were referred to Homecraft Builders by friends who recently used the company to build a deck. Initially we were going to replace the existing structure but after reviewing options with Marc we decided to add an additional open area to the porch. Marc was “hands on” from our initial estimate and through the project. We appreciate that Marc walked us through the different stages of the project (tear down, rebuild, roofing) and was very communicative on how the crew was completing work. When decisions needed to be made on the job (where to put new stairs, fan installation), Marc walked us through the different options to ensure the finished product would meet our needs. "Roofing Company removed slate roof and installed asphalt. House has a steep angled roof. I liked the actual work. Safety harness on men and fast service. What I didn't like was unprofessional attitude of company. Expensive plants and fine landscaping surrounds house much of which was crushed from falling debris. Plastic sheeting had been laid directly on delicate landscaping. When later researching this issue most companies lean long posts against the house. Then plastic sheeting is laid over and tacked to the posts. This lifts the sheet off of landscaping keeping plantings safe from falling debris. My Grandchildren collected 38 nails subsequently (for .25 cents each). The driver (who brought the roll-off) drove over my lawn causing deep grooves to grass and cracked the sidewalk. After 6 weeks the subcontracted trucking company agreed to pay for damage. I personally arranged cement and lawn repair company to fix the damage. I mention this as a negative against the roofer as I felt they should have assumed the responsibility of the repair and not myself. We paid the roofer $5500. They were almost lowest bid. We held $500 back until damage sidewalk was done. Roofer refused to pay anything towards the extensive damage to the landscaping. Manager pointed out that the contract read that foliage would be protected by being covered by sheeting. The contract also mentioned chance of some damage to property. What I take issue with was the disregard to the property. Heavy rope was left on the sheeting, the weight of that rope was crushing a bush. Piles of slate left on sheeting crushing plants. It wasn't until the men moved the plastic that I was aware of the damage this was causing and insisted the workers throw the slate away from the house! The men were agreeable and polite when I spoke to them. But where was the manager who promised he would be on site?? I called him, " I can't be at every job." But he was at my house the following day. He stayed the entire second day and the crew made effort to throw the slate into the garbage bin. The finished roof looks very good. The manager's final word was all companies do cover landscaping the way he does without posts. Make your own choice."

"The guy that came over was incredible nice, helpful, provided some really good feedback, in addition to drywall I had him do some other small stuff too, he also repair some tiles fix some grout and fixed a carpet problem, the guy was on time, punctual, did all the things I needed him to do for the most part and everything was good. They were helpful."
