We take pride in delivering the best possible customer service in the pest control industry. While we are clearly in the pest control industry what we really provide is customer service. We absolutely go out of our way for our customers. I take it personally. My entire family got Lyme disease in our backyard, that’s why we started the company. Patrick Durkin got West Nile Virus and almost died. This is more than just a business for us. While we might not be perfect, we sure strive for perfection and make sure we do our best to rid yards of ticks and mosquitos.

"Professional. Dependable. Excellent value. They email us the day before they treat the yard. We choose organic treatment over regular pesticides and tick tubes. Organic is around an 1/8 more expensive, but it is reasonable when comparing other competitors’ organic treatment prices. It has been worth it for our peace of mind and the safety of our pets and backyard wildlife. Highly recommend!"

"I had a truly disappointing experience with this company, and I will never recommend them to anyone. There were several aspects of their service that were disrespectful and unprofessional. Firstly, one of the major issues was how they addressed me based on my gender/s**. Instead of using my actual name as listed on the contract, the technician referred to me as "woman" and even went so far as to call me "Queen" with sarcastic hand gestures. This behavior was not only rude but also highly inappropriate. It's evident that they lacked basic respect and sensitivity towards their customers. Furthermore, the technician, Jamal, appeared to be too relaxed and overly familiar with customers he didn't know. I engaged their services for pest control, not for socializing. I expect a professional approach when dealing with such matters. However, Jamal seemed more interested in being friendly than actually addressing the pest issue. When I requested the technician to place poison in the bathroom, which was a covered area according to the contract, I faced unnecessary resistance. It was clear from a simple Google search that rodents are commonly found in bathrooms. Yet, Jamal was hesitant and claimed it was due to concerns about my dog. However, the fact that they had already placed traps and poison in other accessible areas of my home, including the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and basement, made this excuse seem baseless. The lack of communication and cooperation between the office and the workers was another evident problem. When I escalated the issue to the "owner" (whose actual ownership I couldn't confirm), I received no resolution or even a follow-up call. Instead of addressing the problem of an employee not fulfilling their duties, I was given an unnecessary rundown of rodent behavior. Additionally, there was a contradiction in what Jamal said he could and couldn't do. He claimed they couldn't move heavy items, but then proceeded to move the stove and refrigerator without any apparent problem. This discrepancy only added to the frustration I experienced. As a homeowner, I have every right to monitor the work being done and ask for proper coverage in areas where I've witnessed pest activity. However, Jamal seemed to push back whenever I made these reasonable requests. Overall, the lack of professionalism, disrespectful behavior, and failure to address the issue adequately left me deeply unsatisfied with their service. I hope to find a more reliable and respectful pest control company in the future."

"Pavers are fine however no weed barrier added and the flower beds ended up with more grass in it than our lawn. Looks worse than what we originally had."

"Pristine did a great job. We were pleased they were willing to hook up existing equipment, as some companies had refused to. (Our previous company had gone out of business, and they complimented the existing work.) They worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Now our water is acid free and has fewer minerals. No more white powder everywhere!"

Lawn Fertilization and Treatment questions, answered by experts

The best time to fight crabgrass with pre-emergent herbicide is when forsythias tend to bloom. In the mid-Atlantic region, this is usually between April and May. Even if you're late to apply the herbicide, it’s effective as long as the crabgrass plant has fewer than five leaves.

Powdery mildew tends to grow mostly on leafy plants. The mold itself isn’t particularly harmful, except for those who are allergic to mold. However, you should treat it like you’d treat the discovery of any other mold, and get rid of it immediately. Powdery mildew can spread to your home, which can cause expensive damage.

In the fall, you should aerate the soil, overseed the bare spots, kill weeds, mow the lawn low, and rake your leaves. By boosting your lawn’s health in the fall, your grass will be stronger throughout the winter and come back healthier in the spring. You should also trim your perennials so that they withstand the winter and are ready for new growth in the spring.

You can thicken new grass by using fertilizer, watering it 1 to 1½ inches per week, mowing when it is at an optimal height, and preventing weeds. You should fertilize your grass while you plant the grass seed, or soon afterward. Use an herbicide to prevent weeds or spot spray with herbicide to kill existing weeds.

You can fertilize right after mowing as long as you've collected the clippings. If you leave grass clipping, they can form a mat that prevents the fertilizer from reaching the soil. Plus, grass clippings are rich in nitrogen, so if you leave them and then apply fertilizer, you can end up with too much nitrogen in the soil.
