"Excellent. They called 20 minutes before arriving to give us a head's up. They arrived, were pleasant and polite, moved the piano into the truck, out of the truck and into my house, all without a scratch, we paid them and it was done. Easy peasy, within 30 minutes. If I ever need to move a piano again, I'll use them, but I will also recommend them to my neighbors."

"This was the most coordinated and professional move I’ve ever experienced. Working with Jose Was great, he made sure that I was informed about every step of the move and stuck to the initial estimate. Items were securely, packed, and movers were cautious with any larger fragile items. Would not hesitate to use their services again in the future."

"Cory and Colton arrived on the time schedule, did a survey on the apartment and quickly started moving the furniture. They were very professional and did the best they could to finish as early as possible."

"We couldn't ask for a better moving company!! We would give them 6 stars out of 5!! This was the 2nd time we hired Campbell Moving. Last time (3 years ago) went so very well, when we were ready to move again this time around, we went straight to Campbell without considering any other company. Our move this time was quite complicated, involving several stages of moves. Mat and Bill were very patient and professional from the beginning to end. They provided not just quotes but consultations as well! When we first spoke with Mat on the phone about moving the majority of household goods to storage units so we could stage the house for sale, Mat was extremely patient in helping me deciding on the best scenario. While not sure how much stuff we had to determine the truck and storage unit size, after several conversations, Mat scheduled Bill to our house to give us the best quote. On the day of moving stuff to the storage, the moving team lead Johnathan and his crew showed up right on time with a courteous call on the way. They were so efficient, packed everything well and professionally and didn't waste a minute! From our house to the storage rental unit, they even got there before me and unload everything and storage well. They packed their truck and the storage unit so well, there was even space left! This was just the first stage. 2 months later after we sold our house and ready to move to our new home, we needed to plan again to the best scenario. Due to restrictions on settlements of both sale and purchase, we weren't able to move straight from our old home to the new one. Once again, Bill was completely on board with us and had patiently come up different suggestions on different scenarios. He really took our situation to the heart and sincerely wanted to help out. We had called him so many times with updates on changes and each time he patiently helped us resolve. Due to his real estate background, he also made suggestions that our realtor didn't even mention to be options! When settlement date approached, we decided to move out a few days before hand, Bill offered the option of keeping our household goods in his company's trucks over nights, with minimum charge, so that we didn't have to move twice to the storage unit in and out within just a few days apart. This option helped us a lot. In addition, we also had a large playground set to move; many outdoor equipment companies either didn't have such service or charged almost the cost of buying a new set, or, required paying in full up front before moving the equipment. Bill's solution was simple - sent an additional truck to move the playground, moved by the same moving crew while they moved the household, charged the same hourly rate. This was yet another big help/solution for us! On the stage of moving day (loaded up the rest of the house and kept everything in their trucks until moving to our new home), Johnathan and his crew once again showed up on time and got to work right away and once again so very efficiently moving everything to the trucks. They packed up the truck in such a professional way (and securely) and were able to load up everything in minimum numbers of trucks. They kept our "whole house" in their trucks and parked in their facility for 3 days and 3 nights. We completely trusted them without any question. On the "real" moving day (stage 3), it was pouring in the morning, Johnathan made a professional call to change plan to go to the storage unit first (good call!). Originally they were going to drive the 3 trucks that were at their facility to our new home first, unload all of them and use one of the empty truck to pick up those in the storage unit. Due to the heavy rain, they decided to go to the storage unit first to minimize the wet of our household goods because the truck could park right by the storage unit door. By the time it was done (they did it so quickly!) the rain slow down. They then went to get the rest of the trucks with the "whole house" and all met at our new home. Again, their travel time between locations was exactly how long it took us, not a minute late. Once all trucks with all of our everything arrived at the new home, the crew once again worked their magic of efficiency to move everything in, plus professionally unloaded, carried, positioning and installing the playground in the new backyard. They were so very careful with each item, regardless obviously precious or just simply a small box. In addition, Johnathan and his crew have such positive and cheerful attitude while working (yet still very professionally). Although we couldn't understand what they were saying, we appreciate the "atmosphere" the crew had, which made the move seemed a bit more bearable. Overall, we are very, very happy with Campbell. We trusted that the move and our whole house were in good hands from the beginning of consultation and plan with Mat and Bill, to the actual moves with Johnathan and crew. We couldn't ask for a better company and a better outcome. We would HIGHLY recommend Campbell to everyone."

"I'm having trouble finding the right words to describe our experience with Potomac Moving Company, but "amazing" and "game changers" come to mind. This was an interstate move (DC to PA) in less-than-ideal conditions (we had to move an adult family member out of the apartment). The crew, Roberto and Harry, were empathetic, caring, and incredibly efficient with packing, loading, and unloading the one-bedroom apartment. I spent the day worrying (needlessly) that the storage unit I had rented was too small. The crew fit all of the items neatly and safely into a 5x10' unit with room to spare. I've never seen anything like it. I also want to give kudos to the front office. They were the first company to respond to my inquiry, answered all of my questions patiently, and kept us informed about when the crew was arriving. The value that we received for the price was off the charts. Put Potomac Moving Company at the top of your list. I would not hesitate to call them again for a move if the"

"The move went very well. There are many large movers who will try to bundle your move into very large trucks and they may take up to a 7 days or more before your furniture and belongs arrive. However, G&J left the next morning and arrived in NC the next day which worked out well for us. The did have a little problem with one of their trucks and had to unload all of our things into another truck but they contacted us and let us know early that they were going to be late arriving and informed us of the approximate arrival time. They also advised us when they were within 30 minutes of arrival. All of their people worked very hard, they showed up on time and took extremely good care of moving boxes and our furniture was wrapped in blankets or plastic wrap as needed. The movers were nice, very professional and extremely polite. It all went extremely well and we were very pleased. Moving out of state can be very expensive but we thought the price charged by G&J was reasonable and they did an excellent job. The only comment that I have is that there was a maintenance issue with the truck which had all of our belongs packed on it but in all honesty they discovered the problem prior to leaving for NC which would have been really bad had they broke down on the road. Lastly, I know its not required but I was disappointed that the company did not follow up to make sure that everything had been fulfilled satisfactorily. However, all in all, I would use this company again and I would highly recommend their services."

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. James Martin and the moving crew at Adonis Moving and Storage Company was excellent! Mr Martin was professional and he explained every step in detail concerning the move. This guy truly knows the moving business! Iâ d called him several times before the move and he showed me patient, experience and kindness. Thank you, Mr. Martin. Now, the three guys who moved me were amazing! This moving crew arrived on time and their workmanship was excellent. Iâ d lived in a 3 level townhouse and moved to a condo on the 3rd level with no elevator and they got the job done in about 4 hours. I highly recommended the Adonis Moving and Storage Company and I will be using them again. This is a 5 star company."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Building a house is generally more expensive upfront than moving an existing one. However, the total cost depends on factors such as location, size, materials, labor, and permits. Moving a house can incur significant expenses for transportation, permits, site preparation, and renovations. On the other hand, building a new house allows for customization and may have lower long-term maintenance costs.

Never attempt to move a partially-filled tank, especially with the fish still in it. Even a minor alteration or adjustment in your movement can cause the water to move, disrupting the balance and potentially causing you to drop the tank or strain your back to prevent it from falling. However, you should maintain enough water on the bottom to keep the substrate slightly submerged during transit.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

The best way to pack mirrors is to use specially padded cartons or boxes made for mirrors. Be sure to thoroughly wrap the fragile mirror in padded paper or bubble wrap before sliding it into its box. That way, there’s a protective barrier in between the mirror and the box. Then, fill in any gaps with crumpled paper or additional packing materials.

Yes, many office moving costs are tax deductible, but only businesses are eligible to deduct moving expenses on their taxes. Personal moves, such as relocating for a new job or moving from an apartment to a house, are not deductible.

However, not all business taxes are deductible by that business. Deductible business moving expenses are limited to the direct costs associated with relocating office supplies and equipment. This process encompasses brokerage fees for securing a new location, space surveys, packing, loading, transportation, and unpacking. Costs related to moving employees or other indirect expenses are not eligible for tax deductions.
