"Jerome and his team were amazing and got our job done in the time estimated. They had to repair a concrete floor in a difficult location that required removing the broken concrete (reinforced with brick!) by hand and up a steep flight of stairs. They also had to repair a brick staircase and hand-ground out each mortar joint. Their work was thoughtfully done and impeccable. I canâ t recommend them highly enough."

"There was caulking out here and there were two skylights. He was supposed to be repairing the drywall around them. He started one and rather than putting up the drywall repair stuff and going to the next one while the first one dried. He stood on top of the ladder using a hairdryer to make it dry faster. He used his time so inefficiently. In order to get them both finished, I had to pay him extra and that should not have been the case. The work he did was okay. He did a decent job, but if you sign up to sell a Deal. You sell a Deal. The deal was supposed to be for three hours and I ended up paying him for five hours. It was supposed to be a Deal, but it was not a Deal."

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"I called Bud about 6:30 p.m. on a Wednesday night and he was able to be at my home to look at the toilet the next morning at 10:30 a.m. He and his partner were very thorough and tried a few different ways to keep the toilet from leaking. Ultimately the job required replacing entire ballcock assembly. Bud went to three different places to find the correct assembly for my toilet. They made sure there was no leaking and toilet not running before leaving. Very professional and friendly."

"The provider was on time and did a great job painting.  There were a few area where I felt he could have done a better job with the drywall repair and will need to have this area redone but overall the paint job looks great.  The job was for 8 hours of painting.  He arrived at 8:00 am and left promptly at 4:00 pm but to my knowledge he took a 30 min lunch break which then does not equate to 8 hours.  He cleaned up pretty well.

"

They did a good job but I thought they could do better. It was an average job because there was a lot of damage to the house. They came in and did the repairs and met all the needs because I had a tree go through the house and was in my china cabinet. This was in 2010-2011 and already the shingles are starting to alligator or raise up. They cleaned up well and were prompt and courteous. I am disappointed that 3-1/2 years later my shingles are starting to alligator. It is nothing that you want to put them in the penalty box for but the job was not perfect. They were there right when they said and there was easy contact. There was nothing that they were not good at.

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Some hardware or specialty window stores in your area may repair damaged screens, but it’s less time-consuming, more convenient, and potentially more affordable to hire a screen repair technician to come to your home to do the work on-site. The screen technician will have the tools and experience to get the work done the same day, and they can inspect other screens while there to help avoid repeat repair costs in the future.

Rescreening your porch can take a few hours to a whole day, depending on the size of the enclosure and the amount of screen that needs replacing. If you decide to have a professional handle the rescreening, be sure to get a timeline and a cost estimate so you know how long you’ll be without the screened-in space.

Most windows last for 15 to 30 years, depending on the frame material and the glass quality, but most will require repairs during that time. Windows gradually lose efficiency, so it’s usually best to have a window repair technician inspect and service your windows every five to 10 years. You should also repair your windows if you experience the following:

  • Leaks

  • Drafts

  • Difficulty opening or closing

  • Sudden increases in heating and cooling bills

  • Outdoor noise becomes more audible

  • Signs of physical damage

Common problems include leaks, broken glass, and damaged frames. Regular maintenance prevents extensive damage.

If you’d rather repair your screen door mesh than replace it, you can patch it. Purchase a mesh patch for screen doors with small holes or tears, especially if the mesh is pretty new. Hardware stores and websites sell mesh patches that are easy to apply with an adhesive or a warm hair dryer. Keep in mind that repairs won’t look as aesthetically pleasing in most cases as a full replacement.
