"Inspector responded promptly to my service request. Came on time and was very descriptive while addressing our concerns. He even provided some information on seperate home items that were not part of the service we requested. Also, very respectful of our property. (He actually took his shoes off because we had new carpet.) WIll use again. Thank you!"

"I found PuroClean on Angie's List and am so pleased that I called them! Just a few days after buying a new home, a torrential downpour overwhelmed a storm drain and rainwater entered my basement through the basement door, soaking the carpet. I called PuroClean and spoke with Lauren just before 10am. By noon, Erickson was at the house assessing the damage. He provided a recommendation and an estimate. By 2pm, Zach arrived to start the job. He pulled up the water damaged carpet, making sure to do the cuts in the straightest and cleanest line possible so adding new carpet back would be less difficult, and two pieces of baseboard. He also humored my overly excited 6-year old daughter who was eager to watch him work. I was impressed by how courteous everyone was and how they appeared to work as a team unit. They were courteous, responsive, and did a great job. Hopefully I won't need them again, but if I do, I will call PuroClean."

Lead Testing and Removal questions, answered by experts

Some of the signs that could mean your water is contaminated, such as cloudiness or bubbliness, could also be non-problems that don’t affect your water’s potability. However, if your water smells or tastes strange, it’s a good idea to stop drinking it and test it immediately. If your well water is contaminated, the best way to discover that is to test it.

According to the EPA, there is no safe level of lead in the blood, and so the maximum contaminant level goal (MCLG) for lead in water is zero. Even at low levels, lead is harmful to human health. It can also remain in the body and build up over time with repeated exposure.

No, a standard home inspection includes the basics and does not offer lead paint testing. Professional lead paint inspectors need specific licenses to perform these inspections, which not all home inspectors have. If you suspect lead paint in the home you are about to purchase, you will need to pay separately to have that done. If the findings come back positive, you may be able to negotiate with the buyer to cover the cost of the removal.

Professional lead testing services typically cost between $200 and $500, with the price varying based on the extent of testing and the specific areas tested within the property.

“Testing” can start with your senses: Assessing your water’s appearance, taste, and smell can all be good first steps. The best way to know for sure what’s going on with your water is to use a well water testing kit, which can tell you about the specific levels of bacteria, dissolved solids, and hardness of your water with precision. Have a pro test your well water at least once per year.
