"Gary and his team did a great job replacing the long stairway and steps to my rooftop deck. Everything from the estimate through completion of the project was professionally handled. The end result looks great. Highly recommend them."

"Painters arrived exactly on time and accomplished all tasks the same day. The manually stripped the deck and applied two coats of stain. They carefully cleaned and then painted the foundation concrete as it had got dirty over the years. They also scraped, caulked and painted a large bump-out window off our living room.

"It went very well. They showed up by 7 a m and got started right away. Both men were proffesional and nice. The house which has alluminum siding and brick were completely cleaned. It looks 100% better and we couldn't be happier. While they were here I also had my front concrete porch and sidewalk power washed along with having my gutters cleaned out for an extra cost. All of this work done was worth every penny. We will be using them again in the future and will be referring this company to other home owners."

"If you need a new deck and simply can't afford one Frank Winter, the owner at EW, IS YOUR GO TO GUY I have a brand new deck, custom railing, stairs, lattice, storage area doors, Beautiful Cpmposite Decking and Rail Capping. EW even custom designed a new look. Frank encourages the customer to be involved through the whole process even allowing changes through the process they arrived every day at 8am and gave us a full day. They didn't rush and took the time for perfection. They fixed any. Little nick at the end of we had a problem. We Han 2 big issues a scratched baluster and a corner needed some sanding. I'm sure they added over 20,000 to my value. Boy did we and ANGIES list make a great choice. I included some pics of my once embarrassment of a deck. CALL THIS GUY HE'S THE ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR EWenterprises. Frank Winter"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to install composite decking depends on the size of the decking material, the skills of the person installing the deck, the number of people helping, and how much prep work needs to be done before you can begin. Generally speaking, it takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks to build a composite deck.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.

Yes. Composite decking is resistant to moisture and freezing temperatures, so it’s an ideal material to use in particularly cold or damp seasons. You can install this type of decking throughout the year since it does not warp or split in the cold.
