"Excellent job. The deck and front of the house look great. Iâ m so looking forward to spending time on my clean deck this summer. I will not hesitate to call them back. They arrived early and made sure that I was happy with the work before they packed up to leave. Very friendly too."

"I built the home Mr William Smith was contracted to replace the screening of the gazebo on my home’s deck and then power wash both the gazebo and deck. Do working with contractors is not new to me. After cleaning he was requested to apply a clear stain of my choice inside the gazebo and then a solid stain of my choice to both the deck surface and the gazebo’ outsides. I could not have been happier with a contractor ‘s service performance. Weather cooperating he masterfully completed everything in 3 days as estimated. The screening replacement was not straight forwarded. It not just that Mr Smith and his support did a great job he did not require deposit or payment on this scale of job until it was completed and performance approved by me. He is as open and honest of a contractor as I have met. His attention to detail was as if it was his own property. Also his cleanup was excellent. I thought his price was fair and have already recommended his services to neighbors."

"Excellent. Crew showed up on time and used specialized nozzles and a chemical treatment to remove everything. It's spotless and the chemicals they used continue to keep things looking clean. Have already scheduled them to come out next April to do house and deck."

"The house looked so good, I couldn't believe it. The siding and roof looked brand new and the lattice around the porch was absolutely spotless. I will use them again. The cleaning was so good that once every two or three years is all I will need to keep the shine in the exterior"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The most likely causes of a deck leaning to one side are damaged deck posts, soil erosion, and inadequate deck footings. If you’re not sure about the exact cause, the best option is to call a contractor who can build a deck to inspect the damage and recommend the best way forward.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.

Yes. Freestanding or floating decks are exactly what the name implies—structures with their own support beams. You can build a deck yourself and place it next to a house for the illusion of a connected deck without the hassle. Or you can construct it in a separate part of your yard for a dedicated outdoor entertainment space. For the purpose of removing a freestanding deck, the steps are the same as an attached deck, but you don’t have to cut the deck away from the home.

Deck stairs should have at least three stringers rather than two. The recommended minimum width for stairs is 36 inches, and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors recommends at least three cut stringers to provide sufficient support on wood decking stairs of this width. Generally, stringers should be a maximum of 16 inches apart for wood decking and 12 inches apart for more flexible composite decking.

No. In most cases, it’s not colder or freezing temperatures that affect decking materials but the amount of moisture that seeps into the materials as a result. For example, wood decking material is more likely to suffer from rot or decay when exposed to excess moisture from snow or ice. An extreme change in temperature can cause wood to expand or contract, but only if it’s not properly treated beforehand.
