"Target Radon was very responsive and they worked in increments. They replaced the motor first. When that was not enough the replaced the stack. They continued working until the problem was solved."

"Wonderful service from start to finish! They repeated a radon test and got quite a different reading than the building inspector who apparently did not place the canisters appropriately I thank Ted for saving us from the radon risk. Highly recommend and very professional"

"Chris Barcikowski was on time, cordial, professional and spent a reasonable time checking our home issues. "I was very pleased with the service and work done by SWAT environmental. Lance was very helpful in explaining the process when he booked my appointment and the two techs who installed the radon remediation system were professional and courteous. The system itself isn't inconspicuous but I feel safer knowing that our radon levels are significantly lower now."

"I've used Floodbusters twice in the last two years. The first time they came out and sealed a crack in my utility room to exposed concrete. The job was solid, but the sealant they used looked a bit sloppy. I called and the same week they came out and painted over it. Now it looks good! This was in 2019. This past February 2020 I had them come out again, this time they had to remove drywall to access where the crack was. Two different men came out then the first time. They did a pretty good job. All I need now is for my drywall to be replaced and another successful job will have been done and in the books. I really appreciate this company and highly recommend!"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

Radon detection is crucial as prolonged exposure to radon gas, a leading cause of lung cancer, poses significant health risks in residential environments.

While DIY testing is possible, abatement generally requires professional installation to ensure efficacy and meet safety standards.

Testing every 2-5 years or upon adjusting occupancy or structural changes maintains safe environments.

The fan that pulls the radon out of the air needs to run continuously, so you may see an increase in your electric bill once you install the mitigation system. Additionally, you may see an increase in your heating or cooling bills, as the fan can cause some loss of hot or cool air.
