"I had a fantastic experience with A&F Plumbing and their team! They replaced our well pressure tank with efficiency and expertise, and their willingness to negotiate a reasonable price was greatly appreciated. As a small family business, their personal touch made all the difference—they were early, professional, and ensured the job was done right. Their stellar customer service truly set them apart, and I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. If you're in need of plumbing services, I highly recommend A&F Plumbing for their excellent work, fair pricing, and exceptional customer care. I am a single mom with little experience, but I called multiple plumbers for this job. All of them wanted an up front visit fee... many were so expensive just to tell me what is wrong! I had one (not A&F, not Angi) come out, charge me 100 bucks, tell me what was wrong... even though it was fairly obviously cracked and needed replacing and proceed to upsell for twice as much as others! Sometimes it feels like roulette! HOWEVER, after talking with A&F his diagnostic visit fee was byfar the most reasonable. I felt like I could pay it and still feed my family. And after discussing how I felt so "run around" with the process he was comfortable doing a ball park negotiation on the phone before coming out. (Admittedly the issues was very cut-and-dry). And at least I knew if i was working with a quote in the range i could even afford!!! That was so helpful to me. So helpful. Hire them!!! You will not be disappointed."

"One unit was fine. The heat pump unit needs some new parts as it is 11 years old and sitsc in the roof under the southern sun and is just getting worn down. So Rob from Sila recommended the parts that need replacing. Very good company that I have used for that to perform these twice yearly checkups. Highly recommended."

"Very pleased - arrived on time - quoted the above job - had to replaced faucet and 30 year + old sump pump, main shutoff - cleared drain for sink/disposal and fixed dish washer drain pipe etc. Jermaine had to get WSSC to come out and repair outside water feed, otherwise he would have completed in a few hours (had to wait for WSSC). Again very pleased and would highly recommend! Drain Surgeon Plumbing & Heating and Jermaine are on my speed dial for future plumbing needs."

"When we returned from vacation, the sump pump had failed, causing a mess in our mechanical room. We obtained the services of 7247 through Angi, and the response was swift. Lee Williams arrived, immediately identified the problem, took measures to secure a new pump, and installed it late in the evening. We were so grateful that he completed the replacement the same night."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

If your well pump gets stuck in its casing, you may be able to free it loose by gently wiggling the line or by vibrations from tapping the line with a hammer. However, if your pump is stuck in a buildup of minerals around the casing, you’ll probably have to call in a well pump contractor to get it out. They’ll likely use a muriatic acid solution—a strong, corrosive acid—to break down the minerals and free the pump loose.

To avoid a stuck pump in the future, experts recommend a professional well cleaning once every 10 years.

Yes, it is possible to drill a well by hand, but it calls for a good deal of physical labor. Drilling a well by hand is best suited for softer soil, and it may not be possible through rockier terrain. For wider and deeper holes, companies with professional equipment make the job much easier.

If you notice that your well pump runs continuously, it’s important to take action quickly to avoid further damage. A few common issues may be to blame for a continuously running well pump, such as mechanical damage, a faulty pressure control switch, low water level, prime loss, and leaking pipes and fixtures.

Both can deliver clean water to your taps, but well water and city water carry a few differences. City water is delivered and connected through a main water line, and it travels through a network of underground private and public pipes to service various buildings and structures once it’s been treated.

Well water is derived from dug or drilled wells that source groundwater from the water table. City water is often more expensive than well water, but it eliminates the need for you to test and treat your own well water.

The life span of a water pump ranges from five to 15 years on average. Regular maintenance can extend its life. If you notice significant drops in performance, strange noises, or frequent malfunctions, consider a water pump or well pump replacement.
